I made a big batch of breakfast burritos. I roll them and freeze them into 1 cup souper cubes. Tonight, I had exactly enough burrito guts to fill 12 of them perfectly without any leftovers or a tiny last burrito. This never happens! And I didn’t even measure anything! They also used all of the last bits and ends of veggies in the fridge and freezer.

I finally realized the “put stuff down when coming in from the garage” shelf was out of control but in a specific way. Tried some containers, returned them, tried other containers that were a better fit, and now activities related items are all corralled and not on top of each other constantly.
For my weekly planner, I usually have several big block items that shouldn’t happen on the same day - yard work and grocery shopping are the big ones, and this time of year yard work should happen twice a week. I realized I could snip out corners from some colorful post its I got and put them on the given day and I’m more likely to do the thing on that day, plus I can just restick it on the next week. I wish I had thought of this ages ago.
I was woken up at 4:30am by a huge thunderstorm! In June! That’s like…not a thing here. It’s the first official day of monsoon and actually raining. Trying not to get my hopes up after the last few years of almost no rain all summer
The bad with the good: we have so few thunderstorms here, or even rain, that my dog barked all night, scared to death from all the noise of the rain on the roof of the motor home and flashes of lightning besides the thunder.
I’m NE of Phoenix.
Oliver definitely made sure I did not go back to sleep ![]()
Ziti didn’t have a fever this AM!
I remembered to take my lunch to work today.
What did you bring??
I meal prepped a tofu stir fry over brown rice with some CSA veggies, then I also took an apple and dates stuffed with almond butter! Plus some turkey/rice cakes and trail mix for snack.
the final parts came for our gallery wall system in the bird wallpaper room, and the big painting is no longer resting on the back of the couch (we got a gallery rail for this room so that we aren’t making holes in the wallpaper to put up artwork)
At the gym we all fight for parking spots in shade.
It’s very windy here today.
When I pulled into the gym I saw an older woman parked in the shade with a large branch precariously broken & hanging above her car.
It was a little awkward, but I went up and told her & she moved her car.
I came out after my workout, and the giant branch is sitting in the parking spot and definitely would have fricked up her car badly.
Yay! Glad I was caffeinated and noticed.
That was very nice of you - no surprise there!
I very very very much almost didn’t say anything and she looked very wary as I was walking up & I almost turned around. But so glad I did whoa.
First - tiny complaint: They really messed up my grocery pick up order a couple of days ago. 1 bag was mine and the rest was not. It took 45 min on the phone and another trip to the store to get it right.
Tiny victory: They told me to keep what I was given, which included a huge bag of cherries, quart of strawberries, quart of blueberries, large plain yogurt and several other items we will use. At the store they gave me a $5 gift card and the customer service person gave me a $20 credit. I’ve given cherries to 3 different people already and should probably give more away. Today I got 5 lbs of bacon and 2 swordfish steaks with the credit & gift cards. I feel like they made good on their mistake.
