Made it to the pool at lunch and it was
#1 open
#2 had a person working the front desk who could confirm that there were no major renovations planned for this summer (last year it closed for 6-8 weeks, and while they offered passes to other pools, it’s a lot harder to go over lunch when I’m looking at 20min in a car vs 5 on a bike)
So I now have my pool pass for the year.

Decently. But that implies that we have the restraint not to defrost it and between dry January and us about to go into pre-parade isolation I do not have confidence in that!!

I wanted to extensively test this before sharing, but I am ready! In my city, the Lyft app has a “wait and save” option, where you may not get picked up for 15 minutes but you save a few dollars. A Lyft driver told me that wait and save requests go to the same queue as regular rides. I have been testing and so far I don’t feel like I am waiting any longer than I would if I booked a regular ride. Join me in saving tens of dollars

Sometimes they artificially put a 4 minute timer before they even start to find me a ride
But also my “pick up in 5 minutes” is often as long as 15 minutes so the app just lies to me all the time anyway

I set up the grocery tracking for the year and in the process used up the end of one accounting pad and a pen. Started a 2nd pad and found another pen. My only thought was, “Good, there’s that much less to caretake, buy, or use up!” Boy is life different these days from my hoarder self!
