We’ve finally finished our holiday jigsaw. It’s only taken us three weeks instead of the usual week. We were trying to be good and buy local to support one of our favourite small shops but didn’t notice the box said ‘Unique and varied puzzle pieces’ when we bought it.
I guess on a per hour spent it was good value for money!
the ‘tupperware’ drawer wouldn’t close this morning, a package of greeting cards had fallen down the back.
So I pulled out the drawer and discovered 7 lids for my favourite 1 cup containers. My TV isn’t just that I found a bunch of lids I thought had ripped, but that I hadn’t ‘been efficient’ and discarded all the bottoms that didn’t have a mate.
I bought a new laptop a month ago but have just been staring at it because I am ridiculously attached to my 10 year old very broken laptop. Last night I finally set the new one up and it is so nice! Also what a luxury to be able to unplug your laptop and take it around the house without it dying in 5 min!
I have had a nice break from work. I relaxed plenty and also did a bunch of house projects that I’ve been ignoring. Some of it was washing all of the curtains and touching up small paint chips where opening the can and stirring the paint takes way longer than the actual painting does. I also had a builder come in and repair a few areas of cracked plaster and get that painted so my house currently feels pretty good. It’s a nice feeling.
It really is a skill issue !! And I know some people bruise easier than other but like. The good phlebotomists are out there and are worth their weight in gold.
(my current one is so good I can’t even feel it. at all. I never want to give him up.)
My doctor’s office had the only phlebotomist who could get me on the first try without any digging, and they’ve stopped doing lab work in house so his position doesn’t exist anymore Now I’m resigned to the phlebotomists that fail after poking me twice who need to call in reinforcements.
We had 170 applicants for our 4 month coop student position. Over Christmas.
TC: people, if you have a cover letter make sure you put it with the right application because attention to detail is important. They all got rejected. And our hours will not work around yours. And holy using AI for cover letters! Love our innovation and value alignment. Please stop.
at last job I think the application system kept the old cover letters on file if they hadn’t submitted a more recent one, so we ended up with the wildest mismatches on role. Occasionally also they mentioned being excited about joining a competitor’s team, which is clearly a case of attaching the incorrect file.
I hope you have 10 exciting candidates among the group.
I was searching in my purse for a lip balm and found a (wrapped) piece of my favorite chocolate. I didn’t remember putting it in there so I wasn’t sure it would still be good, but it was delicious!
