Tiny Victories

Today’s high is 75 degrees. I can’t decide which soup to make first! I’ve been waiting for soup for 6 months :sob:

Ok two victories in a row shouldn’t be allowed, but I just found a new pair of my very favorite, very discontinued (like 10 years ago) running shorts on eBay! I literally have been stalking eBay for 4 years for this exact pair/color…$15! and my original pair is literally in shreds, so perfect timing!

I used up 3 gift cards tonight. My wallet now has 3 less cards, and I bought reading socks and a matching hot water bottle. It’s ridiculously frivolous and I love them. I also got a new duvet cover for my moms house but that is not as exciting.

first spin class since lockdown seems to have gone well, I was able to do a 9km walk today without additional knee pain.

it looks I can make a 9am class (no description on website, but based on the photo it’s leggings and runners appropriate) tomorrow. I’d really like to have a 3x a week cadence. I do so much better in classes than self directed.

Clearing the kitchen means I can cook again.

The other day, I finally got around to using the free air fryer I picked up from Freecycle a couple of months ago. Never used one before, and the results were excellent.

Then tonight I made a delicious stir fry. Simple noodles, with sugar-snap peas, soya protein and also some flavoured chicken. Tasted delicious!

The cooking sauces and staples like noodles I’ve bought from a website called Sous Chef over the past few months are working really well in combo with the free stuff I get from my kind neighbours.

Early days, but I think I’m slowly getting back to being much better able to look after myself. Hopefully

It’s been years actually, so I suppose that’s a pretty large victory overall. Woot!

I had a meeting with my financial advisor today. He said that I am doing very well related to my income level which was great to hear. He is going to change some funds around to one that will be much stronger.

The strap for my running watch broke and could not be fixed. Replacement straps are only $8 on Amazon but the import fees to ship to Egypt would be another $50. HOWEVER a friend who used to have this same watch thought he had extra strap floating around somewhere. Today he found it and after a bit of a struggle with the screws I have successfully fixed my watch!

Baby slept til 6:30ish! I woke up in the middle of the night to turn on the air—I have been so sweaty the past two nights without it on and couldn’t stand it anymore. Perhaps he was also sweaty

I found a website that makes election research super easy in CO! For each ballot measure it says what a yes/no means, history of the measure, why folks support/oppose the measure, and who specifically supports/opposes the measure (like public groups and state officials). Loving that this made voting way easier.

They’ve got info for California too. Thanks so much!

There’s a drop down on the right hand side of this page so anyone can change to their state:

I love that they list where the largest donations came from, it helps a lot with transparency

I had a gallon of unopened 11 year old paint in my basement from when I bought my house. I took it to Sherwin Williams, they shook it, and it’s still perfect.

I posted awhile ago that my wife said that we received a $1500 refund from the state of Colorado in 2022 or 2023, and I couldn’t figure out what she was talking about. I found the check! It was from August 2022 and the bank records I was reviewing only went back to September 2022.

Nice to know her memory is so good and our record keeping is working! It was in my last stack of papers to go through.
