The owners manual for our dishwasher says that our filter is self-cleaning (trust me, it is CLEARLY not, it is completely disgusting) and there are no instructions for removing and replacing it. I am scared to death to remove it for fear that we won’t be able to get it back in, and since we aren’t letting people in our apartment would have no way to get it fixed.
Am I misreading the dishwasher manual or do dishwashers exist where you literally cannot take out the filter? I can’t figure out how else to clean it. It’s just like a mesh, the manual also says no bleach (it seems a little mildewy), I tried vinegar repeatedly to no effect.
Boy Kitty landed his 6 a.m. hairball entirely on a big piece of brown packing paper that they’ve been playing with, allowing me to just dump the whole thing in the trash with no scrubbing in the pitch dark necessary. Good job, Boy Kitty!

I made chocolate chip cookies to leave some for the various delivery people and left the first bag out for the USPS driver. I can see the mailbox from my desk and he totally opened the bag as soon as it was in the truck and started tucking in.

Friend brought me peanut butter cookies and chocolate thumbprint cookies with raspberry jam. They’re delicious.
Also I’ve been taking selfies daily for the last week or so to help boost my self esteem, and I think it’s working.

Kid-2 finally got assigned his new duty station, and it’s in Arizona! It’s more of a TV for me than for him and DIL (the desert Southwest is not everyone’s cup of tea), but all four kids will finally be within a day’s drive from me, and the three grandkids will be close enough to each other to get together and play once in a while, post-pandemic.
