Tiny Victories

You do! They’re so cozy and can be warm buttoned up or cool open and with sleeves rolled up. So versatile. Iconic. A must.

As soon as I can safely thrift again! Turns out flannels made for women aren’t proper flannels, at least not at the price point I can afford new.

Highly recommend Thredup for online thrifting. Also look for vintage pendletons on ebay, mercari, and poshmark.

I used to have a flannel my mom made my dad when they were dating, with a label inside that said Made With Love by ____. It was plaid in all the colors of the Brady Bunch house  and it was the best.

Oh my god, yes you need flannel!

Ooh this is good advice. My partner’s stepmom also works for Pendleton, I should pick her brain about sizing and styles.

my ex used to work for pendleton, and if you’re good enough friends with stepmom, they can get the employee deal for your. F&F for pendleton and the warehouse sales brought me some of the best wool sweaters I own lol

their sizing in the US is huge. If you find sizing pre-2000’s it is smaller, or the asian sizing

all of this flannel+PNW talk reminds me of my 23rd birthday when I road tripped from CO to Portland to see Pearl Jam at the Rose Garden and went thrifting beforehand and I found a Pendleton flannel for $15…still my all time favorite birthday.

That sounds like the best birthday in the history of humanity.

I was able to get a NYC library card as a resident of NY state. I am now unstoppable.

My brother and his family that lives out of state will actually get a present from us this year. Last year my mental health was so bad that putting stuff I had made for them into a box and buying shipping for it felt like Too Much.

I semi impulse bought a tea at Trader Joe’s yesterday. When I got home I was like “MAPLE espresso black tea. You hate sweet tea, what were you thinking?!?” But I decided to try a bag anyway. It smelled super sweet when I opened it so I was quite anxious I made a mistake. Took a picture to post to Buy Nothing and everything. But! It turns out it’s really good and mild!

Huh, good to know. I took a similar gamble on something from David’s (Maple Syrup Oolong) and did not have as good of an outcome.
A friend scored me a few boxes of Candy Cane Green Tea though so I’m very happy!

I am so enjoying meeting cancellation requests rolling into my email, and meetings disappearing from my calendar. (People are cancelling most recurring meetings during Xmas and New Year’s week.)

Downside: I underestimated the caffeine level a small cup of this would have, and now I have a crazy head rush.

I hung out with slacker/stoners in middle school and wanted nothing more than a flannel to wear to be just like them. But no, I mostly wore clothes from gap and j. crew
