Tiny Victories

That is extremely badass!

2 weeks into a strict lockdown there is a dramatic levelling off of active covid cases. Look at that pretty plateau!

One day I will send my kids back to school!

I made a photo book! Actually, the victory is that I made two. But I didn’t like how the first one turned out, so I picked a different company and made a new draft and liked it much more. But the point is it’s DONE, it’s ORDERED, and some Christmas gifts are checked off.

Which company did you go with for the second one? This has been one of my “nice to have” projects this year but I wanted to wait till the Christmas deals were available and, uh, I guess I should probably get on that.

Shutterfly for the second. I was using Costco for the first. The interface on the Shutterfly is so much better. It’s way faster too. Uploading the photos on Costco took forever. There’s a Black Friday sale through Sunday evening also.

I found the cookbook series someone recommended to me over a year ago and ordered 2 of the books. Money is coming from December’s grocery budget.
For those interested - The Roasting Tin (and the Green Roasting Tin) by Rukmini Iyer.

We’ve not done photo books with Shutterfly, but love their interface for doing holiday cards. Always try to time it with one of their deep discounts we get in the mail.

I vacuumed and mopped this morning. We’ve been in and out of our house so much this week with house painting or Kiddo going in/out to his play set when the grass is still damp that all kinds of dirt was getting tracked in, now I can finally walk around without my feet feeling gritty!

Bonus: I repurposed a random plastic bin and put it by the back door with an inch of water in it. Kiddo is totally on board with stepping into it then stepping onto the mat and it gets his feet approximately a thousand times cleaner than me trying to dab at his muddy feet with a towel.

I threw out the tiny sliver of soap by the bathroom sink instead of making it last another week. Who is a fancy bitch with a whole-ass bar of soap? I am.

I wet the last sliver and then glue it to a new bar-- you can have it all!

There is something magical about a fresh bar of soap.

My roots are brown again.

I labeled ALL of the mystery freezer-meal containers. There were a LOT of them.
I shouldn’t have to cook for the next week as I eat this stuff down - there is enough variety that I shouldn’t get too bored, I don’t think. And there’s only one thing in there that I’m meh about eating.

I just upgraded to a very, very nice range for $190. (Net). If we bought this induction and convection range new, it would have been $1800-2200. Instead, we got a 3 year old one, excellent condition except a small spot of cosmetic damage, on FB marketplace for $740 delivered. Then I listed and got our old one sold for $550 delivered. All one weekend, net $190 out the door, and now we have a 5 year newer, same brand, better type of range we really wanted.

I am thrilled.

my psychiatrist prescribed me an emotional support dog…without even asking me! I  her, she totally gets me. This is a TV, except…I have way too much anxiety to actually even imagine asking my landlady if she would consider it.
