I got a lot of groceries that I had budgeted for! Then smoked a city ham and doctored up the glaze with slugs of bourbon, whole cloves and allspice that I ground in my mortar and pestle–then more already ground cinnamon. I sliced a half dozen potatoes or so for a gratin casserole.
My in laws picked up their share and they said it was good.
Relaxed on my 1st day of my week of vacation.
I did not much today.
Plans for the week are made: some sport, same walks and a lot of lounging with a good book.
On hold with the insurance company about reducing it for reduced driving. When I called this afternoon it was a busy signal. So win that I got in a queue! But the real win is I dragged myself on to the treadmill to surf the forums and walk while I wait on hold instead of sitting on the sofa watching tv. I completed 15 min before it was picked up, stopped to talk, and now transferred and on hold again. 10 min down already again.
I figured out my commission as of the end of October today. I was hoping that at the end of the year I would get a check for around 8k on top of my base pay. It is already at 12k, and will go up more based on whatever else I sell in the next two months. Holy crap. And of course yay! But really holy crap, because in about June I thought I would be lucky to just make my base pay and get no commission check at all.
lately it’s at the point where tonight’s dinner of a bag of frozen peas and no bake cookies is a big deal. and i flipped the ratio of clean to dirty dishes from 1:9 to 7:3, progress ongoing
Never received the new credit cards we applied for. Was able to request new cards issued through a relatively frustration-free automated system in <5 minutes. Was really worried I’d have to wait on hold forever to talk to a human.
Yesterday, I measured a kitchen and I had barely gotten in the front door when a wonderful dog rolled onto her back for tummy rubs. I loved on her the entire time I talked to my client.
Today I delivered some things to a client and also gave many tummy rubs and head scritches to her dog.
Our extra warehouse has an apartment attached to it and their cat was outside today. I loved him up while checking items off the truck.
I only have a cat but I adore getting chances to love on dogs, so client homes are perfect for this.
It’s currently 80° and sunny in the hoop house which I thought my husband was building for our bell peppers, but which it turns out he was building for me with just some bell peppers as a bonus. Currently sitting in the hoop house basking in the sun and getting only a little bit dripped on from condensation.
Also, one enters the hoop house from the glass door in my office, so right now, like yesterday, that door is open providing some free heat to the house and making my office the sunny warm triumph of our living arrangement.
My sister sent me a bunch of the Christmas cards she’s been selling and they’re so good! She’s had a really rough year, so I’m super glad she’s making a success of this
I found my leggings (and winter jammies I forgot I had) just before giving up the search altogether. I was starting to think I had accidentally donated them. TC, now I have to find a spot for them in my tiny closet.
