Threw together dinner based on stuff that needed to be used up and it turned out to be amazingly delicious - chicken pesto paninis.

Put together the slatted bed foundation last night, and unrolled my new mattress! Just waiting on my modem and router to come in the mail, and then I can be fully moved on to my new apartment!

Closed an old business savings account. Got the $20 dormant account fee back. Though I’m glad they charged that, otherwise I would have forgotten I had the account in the first place!

I’m sooooo happy that the dissertation defense for one of my friends was announced last night! They’ve had a ton of mental health, financial, relationship, and bureaucratic obstacles, but now they’re almost done!
And one silver lining to the pandemic: I probably wouldn’t have been able to travel for their defense, but since it’s going to be on Zoom, I’ll be able to see it woooooo

Well…now I know why: it broke a few weeks later 
But I found the broken part online (it is a common issue apparently) and managed to fix it!! For 8€ + a bag of candy!
I learned a lot about the way sewing machines work along the process.
I am disproportionately proud and excited 
I am not someone who fixes “real” things (only virtual ones)…

I’ve been working on this code for 3 days. It finally works. I laughed uncontrollably because when I ran it for today, it just said “NO”. I mean, that’s the correct result, but still. 30 hours of work. “NO”

Modem and router arrived yesterday! My partner (lucky duck just quit his job to enroll in school) popped over to the apartment midday yesterday to put the packages inside. Setting up my internet tonight!

Local person wanted to take a couple puzzles off my hands so I went for a walk and dropped those off (ETA, on their stoop where they can decide the appropriate timing to bring them inside) and then on the way back walked past a ‘free’ pile of puzzles in a box on the curb so I brought a couple of those home with me. They’ve been relegated to the quarantine box in my garage for the time being but should be good by the time my current puzzle is finished.
