I came THIS CLOSE to getting in my car and driving up there, but that was just as NorCal issued a shelter-in-place order and I just didn’t know how smart it was to go. It required me doing all the legwork from down here and then getting kid on the phone with agents TWICE (that’s a whole thing…I had to call kid, wake kid up, get kid to eat, get kid to calm down about the upcoming call, talk Kid through the upcoming call as if I know what I am talking about, then answer questions via text while Kid talks on the phone with the place). This took an hour and a half on Friday, and an hour and a half today. But it is DONE! Bonus…I obtained Kid’s W-2 in the process and forwarded it to my cousin/tax preparer, so that will also be handled soon.
Kid still does not understand the difference between a premium and a deductible, but we can cross that bridge when we come to it.
Exactly! It would also have gone faster if we didn’t have to talk about dinosaurs and Pokemon things as part of every conversation, but that’s how Kid rolls.
My trivia team just managed a night of virtual Geeks Who Drink trivia. Not as good as going to the bar, but Zoom went okay (they were running trivia itself with Twitch, Zoom was for our chat) and we even scored respectably .
I’ve been wanting to clean out the laundry room but it would take too much time to do all at once. This morning I decided to just get done what I could in thirty minutes and I cleared off two and a half shelves. Maybe tomorrow I can get the cupboards (gulp).
Bonus victory: I may have triggered Mr. Meer to clear off the other half of the dining room table/his current desk?
5 tax returns completed and submitted for the family(us, my mother and the in-laws). I checked against my accountants work last year to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Now we wait to get our cash back - second victory is nobody owes and 4 of us get $$ back.
