@LittleWanderer can get here in 62 hours, by bike.
I am short. Nods
I STRONGLY APPROVE.
Kid-4 and my dad are in the kitchen doing their annual candymaking. I think he would be fine letting it go, but she’s the baby of the family and insists on keeping up the tradition. My heart…
I don’t think I messed anything up insurance wise! Which is a relief. I didn’t check any of the procedures or specialists for the baby were covered the last few weeks, we just went where the doctors told us to. It looks like they’re all in network and I didn’t miss any prior authorizations I needed though, based on a sleepy perusing of my benefits documents this morning.
I made 3 phone calls before noon. I got a fee waived on a cc, started sorting out an old pension, and clarified my health insurance options.
I haven’t murdered anyone today. I’d put the actual issues in the Tiny Annoyances thread, but given that it involves a horrible intertwining of linux groups, filesystem permissions, and administrator access given to a set of people who shouldn’t even have been allowed near a keyboard, it’s better for everyone’s sanity (mine included) if I don’t.
Some of my fairly debilitating symptoms might be because of a vitamin B12 deficiency, which is easy to fix. I never have easy to fix problems!
I found a container of bean soup in the freezer, that’d been there a while, and thought, “meh, I probably should bring this for lunch so it actually gets eaten at some point.” Completely unenthused about the prospect of eating it.
And, you guys, it is SO much better than I remember it being! Perfect comfort food on a cold cranky day.
Same story, but with goat curry. It was so delicious! What other delightful surprises are in our freezers?
Not much, in my case, I don’t think. I’d mostly eaten down the freezer stash. Replenished it over the weekend with black bean chili, chana masala, and veg curry- which are delightful, but I know they’re there, haha.
Oh, I’ve got one! I realized last night that I still have a few cups of frozen tart cherries from the farmer’s market in there. Saving that for some sort of holiday baking though.
I’ve got a gallon of borscht in mine. I should probably break that out soon.
I did it! I took the dog out while the baby was awake. Baby into car seat, car seat into stroller, we all went out. It was clunky and awkward, but no one got hurt, I didn’t have a breakdown, and the dog pooped so I’ll call it a success haha.
Hooray! The first outing is the toughest. Now you know you can do it solo again!
Kiddo’s jackets have gone missing over the past few weeks during our first cold spell. Today I found both missing jackets and the one he had on this morning so we have All The Jackets (again).
Today I got a new to me (and honestly looks brand new) Bodum French press via But Nothing. A few weeks ago I gifted my nice (but giant) 10-cup coffee maker (I just am not drinking that much coffee any more and it took up a lot of space) and it has been a rough couple of weeks doing pour over coffee without an actual pour over setup. Hooray for more space and for French press coffee!
Got an ingenuiTEA teapot from the office white elephant instead of the usual crap I literally go by the thrift store to drop off on the way home.
I did about a quarter of my to do list for today! Including making chili and cornbread.
Not including 6-8h of various computer tasks. I’m very eager for bed, but laundry had a few more minutes. So I will do dishes. So much productiveness
I know this struggle acutely and I proclaim it more than a tiny victory. Go you!
