Tiny Complaints

Just in defense of your library, Libby is made by Overdrive and Overdrive discontinued their classic app. So your library has no choice here. Not saying your complaint is invalid, just that it’s Overdrive’s fault!

I’m not mad at the library  I love being able to check out e-books!

It’s interesting that Overdrive makes both of them, Libby is so different. I personally find it very difficult to navigate, and I truly hate that it sends me places I didn’t choose to go. I’m assuming I’ll get used to it eventually, I only switched over a few weeks ago because there are giant warnings all over Overdrive about the imminent switch.

Why am I getting Facebook ads about

Ouch, gross, ladyparts

vulva tearing

I mean, probably because of my age, but I do not want to open up FB first thing in the morning and see that phrase.

Ew :frowning: Why are so many people ok with this kind of exclusion and cruelty?

I was coming back to post “WTF Ron DeSantis?” because of his new DEI ban at public colleges and universities.

Because they’re hateful bigots?
FFS, just let people love who they want, why is this hard.

It just doesn’t even make sense to me. I can’t wrap my head around it.

Like, people who are against abortion because they legitimately believe it’s murder, sure. I can understand why they fight so hard for that, even if I don’t think they’re right, or that it’s the best way to reduce the number of abortions.

But this affects 0% of their life. WHYYYYYYYYYYYY.

It makes them feel better to be able to look down on others.

That’s the only answer I can come to, I wish things were different.

This is gross, but also fits with listening to a podcast episode I’m in the middle of…
But I think most of the people actually passing the laws are evil slimeballs and I cannot begin to understand them. But some of the individual humans

Summary

I think they see being trans as an illness, maybe a sexualized thing. And this is encouraged by the evil slimeballs. And because of an increase in trans rights and safety the last 10-20 years has seen an increase in trans visibility that looks like an increase in trans numbers. So the wrong and not evil people are looking to curtail the spread of what they think is an illness.

The NYT is publishing shitty journalism about this, so I can kind of get some people not knowing better and thinking they are doing right. But yeah. A lot of evil and a lot of misinformation and fear

I am talking to good intelligent people about improving how they do their jobs and deliver services to others, and 1 hour is just not long enough to cover all the topics and then I miss out on questions I wish I could ask. but also I’ve already taken an hour of their work day and they have to get their real work done.

American health care system complaint number 2374892384

Medical provider A: There’s XYZ thing going on but also we’re seeing signs of QRS but [because of specialties] we can’t actually diagnose that, but y’know. Nudge nudge.

We ask medical provider B for a full spectrum review of stuff which will also encompass QRS. This is just for diagnosis.

I just reached out to therapy group C, they tried to route me to a certain department first for the diagnosis except that department isn’t taking our insurance and we can’t just pay out of pocket either. This seemed like a nonstarter except what if we’re already working with medical provider B and have appointments set up? Oh well that’s fine, then you can go to the therapy department which does take our insurance. We can’t get scheduled until after that appointment happens, which means at best those services will start probably in mid-July I’m guessing. Fan-fucking-tastic.

WHY. IS. THIS. SO. HARD.

I kept thinking my kitchen smelled. Then kept convincing myself that I was imagining it.
This morning I found a can of tomatoes that burst in my cabinets and has been leaking through the rear bottom for… lord knows how long. From the 2nd to top shelf.

I’m nervous about my one-on-one today because I’m going to complain about my upcoming schedule change and try to work something out. I’ve been thinking about it all day, being all anxious and hand-wavy and stuff, and now my supervisor is LATE. EVEN MORE ANXIETY!!! woo.

Reading about forumers cleaning out closets and throwing stuff out got me thinking about my tshirts. The last new ones I got were 4 years ago. I want some!! But I really don’t need them because it’s summer tank top season soon.

Makes sense to watch for sales if you have favorite brands.

To be fair, I’m trying to go to a second show. I have still never had the opportunity to try to purchase tickets myself (never got a verified fan code and do not have a capital one credit card), but a kind fan sold me an extra at face value a few months ago.
