I’m not sure what you mean by is the whole thing metal, this is what I have (I’m holding up the shelf here so you can actually see the peg). I’ve definitely added a bit of wood glue to the one on my desk because there’s only one spot for the shelf to go so it’s not really adjustable.
You don’t have to use that kind. You can bring it to a hardware store and get a different kind.
That being said, a tiny bit of glue will probably solve your problem.

It somehow did not occur to me that there might be different types made of different materials or in different sizes. I feel very dumb now.

Don’t feel dumb. You’ve never had to devote brain space to this before. I didn’t know this either till a few years ago. Shelves are a thing that should just work. There may be things in our lives that we shouldn’t take for granted but shelves staying up properly is something we should be able to take for granted.

Yes, we have had various Shenanigans in apartments over the years but shelves randomly giving way - on brand new cabinets no less - is a new one.

Do not take your child to gymnastics when the have a wet, productive cough. I’m willing to overlook dry coughs- kids can have those weeks after being sick, or associated with asthma, etc. But my dudes. A wet hacking cough is pretty definitively sick. Please keep Tiny Patient Zero home.

Well and it kills me when it’s gymnastics. Like. This is 45 min of totally elective activity. It’s not childcare even. There’s just NO reason.

I went to the dentist for a filling redo of my crappy old one (thanks medicaid dentist that glued 2 teeth together!) and now my numbing stuff is wearing off.

I met up with the new tenants to sign the lease and do the deposit. They brought the deposit, I forgot the lease. I feel like such a sketchy dirtbag. I’m at Staples printing it now, and filling it out. Hopefully I can get it to them tonight? They are putting their little kids to bed and I need to put myself to bed soon.

At some point in the next two-to-four weeks I’m supposed to fly to a lab somewhere to work on a chip that may or may not be there with a team who…also may or may not be there? I’m sure there’s a way that this entire process could be less organized, but I really don’t want to see it.
