Tiny Complaints

That’s stupid.
Sorry :frowning:

And, I mean, it’s a total catch 22 because I am shipping things out IMMEDIATELY in these times.
Because if it takes too long to get there (which it often does, because USPS is fuct), then I get dinged for that too and forced to refund. I do not want to get “you ruined Xmas!” emails. Which I do every year anyway even when it’s not a pandemic.

I feel like I can’t win. I hate Amazon, but I don’t get sales on Etsy any more and I shut down my website because I never got sales there no matter how much I screamed about my site on social media. Amazon is the only place where i can make any money.

It is not fixed. It is worse than every because apparently the people who own the samples changed their mind and didn’t tell anyone.

I want to scream.

I just checked again because of discussion on MJ’s journal, and the nearest Buy Nothing group is still 40 miles away.

Even though my oral hygiene is excellent, and I have no cavities, my dentist recommended I get four fillings for my very deep groove molars :confounded: at least doing it before it wears through the enamel means that I don’t need pain control or anything. And it shouldn’t hurt. And I have dental insurance so we’ll only owe like $150. But it sucks, because this also means I have to go back for a second exposure during Covid.

I think reports (I originally said studies, but I think that is not accurate) have shown that dentists are a pretty safe place to be.
Most are already following procedures that prevent spread of viruses (since they treat people with their mouths wide open), and many have installed additional ventilation that helps against aerosols; because dentists are obviously trying to protect themselves as well.

My dentist was doing one patient in the waiting room at a time, reception behind full height plexiglass, hygienists had N95s then surgical over them. So that was nice. But still. Sucks. And is the dentist :joy:

I saw the dentist today, and she told me that someone asked her if they had to take their mask off for the visit. (This is AFTER all the screening, protocols, air filtration, and ppe.)

I will admit, it felt very weird. Like, remove pants in the OB or RE’s office type weird :joy:

I felt the same way!

Our internet is out. Again. Twenty minutes ago we got a text saying the issue was fixed, but when we actually called them the automated voice said there’s an outage. Will we’re be able to work tomorrow or will we have to take PTO? Who knows??

Bleh, I have done dentist twice since Covid as well. My dentist makes each person gargle with an Iodine solution for 30 sec and it suckkkkkks. Apparently it may kill viruses in the mouth, something something science, anyway I hate it and now I never want to go to the dentist again.

My teeth have gotten really terrible this year. The dentist is on my list for post-pandemic fun. Ugh.

I got peroxide. I nearly threw up. And you have to do two 30 second swishes. So after nearly throwing up, I had to do it again.

(I’ve had 4 post pandemic dental visits. One to a not my dentist to have my crown reattached because my dentist didn’t have proper PPE to open after the shutdown. My crown literally fell out an hour after the shutdown was announced, and I kept it on for months with toothpaste. One regular cleaning, one filling many months after that when the dentist finally had the new air filtration system that allowed her to use her drill, and then one more to have the filling readjusted. And now it’s almost time to go for a cleaning again. I’m actually pretty annoyed at my dentist for the time things have taken, and thinking about switching, but at the same time, I appreciate she is being very serious about precautions)

Practices seems to vary -
I have been to 3 different dental providers since pandemic:
The usual dentist did one 30 second peroxide rinse for every visit (at least 4 visits, first an extraction, then abscess discovered and lanced at post-extraction check-in))
The emergency dentist did not mouth rinse (I went there due to a flare up of an abscess - so no drilling would be needed).
The oral surgeon (after emergency dentist visit for abscess flare up) did no mouth rinse

I had to go to the dentist FIVE times over the summer. The peroxide swish made me gag. I had to do it every time.

I still need a crown “at some point” according to the dentist but she said I could probably put that off for a year or so unless it starts hurting. I don’t plan to go back until shit is under better control though!

I’m too tired to find the funny things thread so this goes here.

This was taken from a right wing website. Allegedly this is the future the liberals want.

Looks good to me.

Yes please. Though no reason for AOC to be dressed as some sex kitten - sweats would be just fine (she can wear what she wants).

ETA: on reflection, this looks way more like THEIR fantasy, not mine.
