FFS, this is the third or fourth evening in a row that I cannot sit out on the back deck because the guy who lives next door is smoking a big fat stinky cigar.
This is not a new neighbor, but apparently he has picked up a new habit? Gross. And it’s nice out but my allergies can not handle his smoke.
My library has two sets of doors. One set is closed right now so we can control the flow of people in and out of the building, since we limit how many people are allowed in at one time. The set of doors that is closed had giant signs on it, right at eye level saying that the entrance is closed and to use the doors to the right. There are big ass red signs on the doors saying not to use them. There is a big ass green arrow pointing to the doors you are supposed to use. Probably 25% of people still yank and pound on the closed doors. They end up pounding directly on the sign that says “DON’T USE THESE DOORS USE THE ONES OVER THERE FFS” (paraphrasing, and I know this is only bugging me so much today because I’m annoyed about other stuff)
Jesus H. Christ, apparently the TABLES IN FRONT OF THE DOORS AND THE FIVE FOOT TALL STOP SIGN aren’t enough to stop people from trying to go out those doors either.
I haven’t had a real meal in too many mealtimes. Been grazing, which is fine, but want experience of a meal which requires utensils and maybe even has a veg or 2?
I found what seemed like the perfect fit for a therapist/psychiatrist. She is holistic, practices the modalities of therapy that I am interested in seeking for specific things I am dealing with, etc. She just e-mailed me back and has over a year long waiting list. I see why, she seems basically perfect, and one of only a few in my city…but it’s just so discouraging to feel like you found a match to your specific needs, and then can’t get the help you are seeking.
I have sneezed AT LEAST 50 times already this morning, and I’ve only been awake for 3 hours. This does not bode well. Hopefully the antihistamine I just took helps.
Took today off (a little bit because I really need to kill some vacation time before the end of the year, but mostly because events of this week have left me slightly murderous and it’s better for everyone that I avoid human contact for a bit), but ongoing fires that continue to increase in size have turned the air outside back into a campfire visit. Since my throat was itchy just after visiting the mailbox, my plans of flinging myself down a mountain on bike are officially on hold.
People totally don’t read. Or use common sense. Not quite the same thing, but I’ve had this happen with craft fairs before. Tried to arrange my booth so that someone doesn’t literally climb over me to get to the tent behind me. Once got an outdoor booth space that had a huge crater in the ground and arranged my booth with barriers so a customer wouldn’t, y’know, fall in it and sue me, and people would just move them aside. Absolutely nothing works. People are going to GO WHERE THEY WANT GODDAMN IT regardless of what barriers are in their way. It’s kind of hilarious in retrospect.
I did it again today. Except my “wake up two hours before work” light alarm went off, and I can’t tell if I just disabled the sound and went back to sleep or if the sound didn’t go off.
