Tiny Complaints

Update: no call.

I just beat myself (mildly, albeit) up for like 3-ish hours post buying some unnecessary groceries on top of my regular stuff because I wanted some treats.
Not only was I worried about my own budget, but the extra $30 I could have given to a local shelter, or a neighbor who might need it, or…or… or (anxiety brain). etc, etc, etc.

Meanwhile Jeff Bezos is about to become a trillionaire.

THAT IS MY COMPLAINT.

VERY EXTREMELY VALID

I’m sorry- and I didn’t mean to bury your complaint. Did they ever call?

They didn’t. I was equal parts frustrated and relieved. It means I have to call in the morning, but somehow that is easier.

You did distract me from my complaint, though, by making me wonder how anyone could even STAND to be a trillionaire! My conscience would devour my soul.

My complaint is that @TNT didn’t get her damn phone call after waiting ALL AFTERNOON. Rude.

I don’t have a hot tub. And the future trillionaire doesn’t even do enough philanthropy for me to vaguely be like…“well I think he supports x, so maybe they benefit?”

I’m so sorry, this shit drives me nuts.

Related: My therapist keeps rescheduling and rescheduling me and it’s really stressing me out trying to rearrange my schedule. I really want to just quit her but feel like I can’t for Reasons.

This is totally disgusting.

I have a very full day of non-optional activities and a misbehaving body. This doesn’t work.

The town 30 minutes from me is flooding because two dams broke. It could be under 9 feet of water today according to the news. Exactly what these people need during a pandemic.

:scream: shit. That is terrible.

Yes, it is on the news! Yikes!! I hope you are on high ground.

I am far enough away to be fine, but it’s still sad for them.

A house we liked yesterday afternoon was listed pending this morning. May have put in an offer today. I’m deeply bummed. It was on the market for over a month, so it’s a case of truly crappy timing.

Currently there are tree trimmers in front of our building AND our building’s gutters are being cleaned. Boy Kitty got a big floofy tail and fled in terror when he saw them putting the ladder up against our building right next to the office window.

I can’t hear my meeting right now.

I thought our outdoor cushions were dry. Apparently I was wrong. Ewwww.

Our IT guy was in a motorcycle accident. Instead of giving anything resembling a generous disability leave, our company is asking for vacation donations.

Like, I’m gonna donate, but I always get mad when a (profitable) company depends on employees to look out for each other rather than looking out for their employees with their own pile of money.

(ETA: IT guy is fortunately definitely going to make it, but it will be MONTHS of recovery)

Deals fall apart all the time so you never know!

I fucking hate vacation donations as a corporate policy. I get why we have them but they ARE NOT A SUBSTITUTE for proper medical leave policies. Take care of your staff. Some companies do them for PREGNANCIES. I worked at a place with 1 week of PTO per year, which included sick time, and they still had the audacity to implement this policy and ask for it. When the average wage was $12.50/hr.
