Tiny Complaints

Solo here, too. You are correct.

My tiny complaint is ridiculous.

I just recently watched Brooklyn 99 for the first time. I’ve been doing that “cool cool cool cool…” thing my entire life.
And now it looks like I’m doing it in reaction to a television show. Grumble.
But the Tony Victor is that it’s basically The Office, and it’s eeeeasy to watch and sorta chuckle at… and I need that kind of easy right now. :+1:

You doin ok? I’m basically living the exact same life aside from no yoga class, but even that one difference has felt pretty lonely.

Salary cuts.

I’m just fine so this is still a tiny complaint, and I’d rather cuts than layoffs.

Still. Complain complain complain.

I had to put an expensive course on my personal card, and I have expensed it, but it looks like they gave the money to the corporate amex instead of me. So I will need to deal with people to get it fixed.
ETA: this is the course I was hoping would get cancelled so I wouldn’t have to expense it.

I have this huge crappy mac, bought used and preloaded with a bunch of software, that will be pried from my cold dead hands because it has CS5.5 on it. It pisses me off how it’s impossible to buy software normally any more. (I don’t do client work so it doesn’t matter that it’s an old version.)

I’m sorry.
I suspect this is a scenario that I may be facing as well. You’re right, though, better than layoffs. I am glad you are still employed.

I’m glad I’m still employed, too. And I hope that if you guys are feeling contracts it comes in the form of salary cuts instead of layoffs, too.

My tiny complaint is how cutting C-suite salaries is never an option.
Our CEO could take what he’s going to spend on his next yacht and keep the company afloat for a while, I’ll bet.

I cleaned out my garage and I have a ton of stuff to donate and I raced out to Goodwill to do so yesterday before the ‘close all non-essential businesses’ order took effect but when I got there, they were all full! Because everyone else had the same idea, apparently. So they said sorry, can’t take it, and then they closed completely. So now I still have all my crap and no one to take it until the world gets back to normal which will be…???

Fwiw, our CEO seems to be taking a greater than 20% cut.

I want to customize things but I can’t make anything as pretty as I want it because I don’t know how and everything’s so complicated. I just want a pretty digital daily planner schedule page that I can change a border and add stickers to but edit the date/hours/activities appropriately and it not be a stark spreadsheet. But Canva sucks and I don’t know what else to use and none of the Google Docs/Sheets templates that I’ve found are any good/what I want and it’s all dumb.

Our Buy Nothing admin put out a very clear notice to stop gifting until the “stay home” order is over, and a whole bunch of people are disregarding it.

Yeah, our buy nothing page is paused currently so no one can post anything. Thanks a lot, COVID-19. I love my buy nothing page.

Am not dealing well with stress, or able to focus on my assignment.

Ours is still open in case people need support related to COVID-19. But someone asking for a patio table so that they can sit outside because they have to stay at home? IT’S TOO LATE FOR THAT.

That was the other option. I have a lot of things I want to give away on our free and trade site but of course I can’t post my stuff there right now. It can wait in my garage, it’s fine. I was just excited about getting it OUT.

Just another way in which our lives are placed on hold :joy:

Tbh, I was hoping ours would stay open for that reason too but we’ve been told to join a community group so hopefully the same community feel will be there as well for those that need support.
