I also can’t focus on reading right now. I’ve tried 5 completely different books this week, and can’t stay focused for more than a few pages. I think I’m just going to give into the brain numbing powers of Netflix because at least it takes my mind off of the general feeling of doom I have about life at the moment.
I admit I haven’t tried to focus on a book. Maybe I can’t.
I’m working from home, getting paid a lot of money to do interesting tasks in a comfy environment, yet all I can think about is how I’d much rather flop on the couch and watch TV and not have to do anything at all. I am a Big Whiny Baby today.
Same, same, same. Plus I have eaten all my snacks and now I have to bake if I want some more.
I could really go some decent snacks. But nope. No snacks here. Possibly because I keep eating the most interesting food straight after we go shopping and then I have to settle for the ‘meh’ stuff.
That is also part of the reason we haven’t shopped since we started WFH yet, I WILL buy all the snacks and then eat them within a 24 hour period.
I won’t be touched by a human for the next few months
…I realized today
…fuuuuuuuuuck
I thirdly cannot focus on reading right now. I’ve tried and tried.
OH NO.
No one will form a pod with you, and do hugging / touching within that pod?
Me neither
I really really want scalloped potatoes. I do not have the necessary ingredients. Since there’s a pandemic on, I probably shouldn’t go to the shops for ingredients for something I just really want to eat, when I have a fridge, freezer and pantry full of perfectly good food already.
I really want to spend all of my free time baking delicious things but I don’t have ingredients for pretty much anything. The stores here are basically empty, and I’m not going to risk going out, anyway. Baking is one of my favorite coping mechanisms for any hard time in my life…how do I get through the apocalypse without making 5 different kinds of pie??
You tell us what you do have and we help you work out baking projects.
We have a list going of things to get whenever it is that we next get groceries. It’s maybe 15% things for normal meals, 85% random things we’ve been craving.
I also think you shouldn’t go out just for scalloped potato ingredients, but the next time you do get groceries that should definitely be on the list.
We do the same, but it’s not as good as getting exactly what you crave when you crave it
True! And we haven’t even gotten to the point of eating strange things with what’s left yet—we stocked up with a lot more canned/frozen things than usual so between that and our normal dried beans/grains it’ll be a while before we get a chance to indulge our random cravings.
My husbands job role is essential. So far this hasn’t meant much, since all his clients haven’t been, so they’ve been cancelling. But today, an essential role client needs him. In the Seattle area. Neither of us are thrilled about this. It’s not even a job where he’ll wear tyvec/respirator. I’m kinda thinking he should anyway
Very annoyed too since there’s absolutely no reason this needs to happen right now.
This is not tiny.
My TC: I have put out all the fires and may have no choice but to work on my annual report. Don’t wanna.
Same. I think I finally have to write that paper. It’s about time: it is due tonight.
(but no, I’m gonna go add to the memes thread first)
Fucking adobe. I have copies of photoshop and illustrator from school that are old but get the job done. Sometimes I need indesign for client work so I usually sign up for one month of creative cloud and use it to get the work done. Just realized they never completed the cancellation of my last one AND somehow signed me up for a full year so it wants me to pay over $40 in fees to cancel it.
Now the chat support guy is trying to get me to keep it for free for 3 months and I just want it gone so that I don’t have to waste time in 3 months doing this same thing. I miss being able to buy software normally.
