I wasn’t paying enough attention while cleaning and poked myself with the tip of my chefs knife. It wasn’t bleeding too bad, but I’m very annoyed myself. It’s been YEARS since I’ve bled from a knife handling fuckup.

I scoot her claws out often when we are cuddling just to look at them. She’s pretty good with being handled.
That being said, if she’s annpyed I’ll probably just let it go. She doesn’t scratch any furniture or me much (unless, like an idiot, I’m playing with her in my bare feet & she’s trying to get a toy, lol).

We clip claws when they start making little holes in our knees during laptime biscuit-making. Or if we notice them starting to get caught on stuff like the couch slipcover or the curtains or our clothing. Sometimes they’re totally chill and let us do all their feets at once. Other times they get wiggly and they get 1 of their feets done at a time. Always lots of treats after!
I have a clippers that sort of looks like a scissors but the blades are angled a bit. I’ve found that to be the easiest to handle.

It’s a good habit to start while she’s young! Who knows if she’ll develop habits later. Right this minute Boy Cat is wrapped around my head and I would hate for an accidental claw to land on my face if he decides to make a few biscuits!

Pretty sure the turf I’ll be working is safe, but it’s also in town and not where I actually live. If the area was where I live…hell no. Too many dogs (not the nice kind) and too many guns.

My right hip has been really acting up the last couple of days. I’m not necessarily in pain, but there’s like this…tugging tightness? that keeps coming and going.
