Tiny Complaints

I was once at my hairstylist bitching about how I had some gray coming in, and I said, “well, at least when I’m totally gray, then my hair will be light enough that I won’t have to bleach it before putting bright fun colors on it!”

And my stylist was like “HAHAHAHA no. You still need to bleach gray because it is less (porous? I forget what word she used) and is even less likely to take dye than your natural color is.”

Hmph.

And when I touch up my own color between salon visits (just dumping semipermanent dye on my head, I do not bleach myself), I notice that the color washes out WAY faster on the greys than it does on my natural medium brown. So she appears to be correct.

I fell asleep on the couch last night after what was in retrospect probably too much wine.
Woke up at around 12:30, checked my phone and there are no fewer than FIFTY missed texts to me and Boyfriend from a very drunk friend who lives out of state and was celebrating a birthday.

Large numbers of notifications on my phone is an anxiety/panic trigger, for Reasons. I went to bed for real shortly after that but did not sleep because my nervous system was just too charged up.

There does seem to be some variability though. For the record both manic panic and Kool-Aid work just fine on my gray(kool aid colors are unpredictable, but there) . Food coloring, nope.

I think I need to introduce my mum to coloured hair dye.

My hair is a similar variety of weird- vegetable based dyes like manic panic stick in my grey no problem but a salon job doesn’t.

@TNT that’s awful. I wish you would’ve been one of my drivers yesterday.

I missed all the sunshine this weekend due to a callback at work and pet problems.

There’ll be more sun. But phooey.

Daisy was washing her butthole in the middle of the kitchen.
“Manners!” I said.
She doesn’t know that command.

Accidentally sat near someone who is having a Very Hard Emotional Time. Which is legitimate, but I’m in pain, and it’s hard to spare the bandwidth for a lot of sympathetic listening today.

Huh. Didn’t know manic panic was vegetable. That means I can almost definitely get a good purple-pink out of my homemade pokeberry dye. Just have to wait until late June…
(Or use dried elderberries, hmm)

I’m really enjoying the book I’m reading… Except for the main character insisting she’s soooo ooooold to be pregnant. She’s 33. What the fuck.

I think vegan cheese is making me break out just as badly as dairy cheese :slightly_frowning_face:
So annoying, like…I know vegan cheese isn’t exactly a health food…but it’s nice to have the option, but not if it’s going to revert my skin back to 16 year old status

This is my struggle any time I try to go dairy free. My skin and gut are just as, if not more, angry about dairy replacements as they are dairy. So to go dairy free, id have to eliminate any semblance of dairy. That really limits culinary options!! And thus, dairy has stayed :grimacing: At least it’s cheaper…

My local library doesn’t open until noon, and I want to start reading the book I have on hold!

My mom and dad cancelled coming up to help today. My dad hasn’t seen the baby since Christmas, which was half her life ago. They only live a couple hours away and are both retired. Zero reason. Just not coming.

These are the people who didn’t come see my at the state championship when I made the team as a freshman because the parking would be too bad. I do not have high expectations, as a rule.

They do not deserve you.

Yeah, but even low expectations lead to disappointment sometimes. Sorry.
