Tiny Complaints

I can do it for both February and March, but I was just so excited to show it off here

The bad influence fairy suggests thai food.

Hmph, I can’t leave the office. I get to go home in 2 hours, I can power through.

Thai food sounds really good now though.

Phooey. Is delivery to your office an option? Else, good luck powering through and I wish you delicious foodz upon your escape!

My eyes are doing this weird pulsing/twitching thing and I have a strange pain in my side/ribs that I can’t place.

Also my coworkers are being assholes again.

Everyone else’s complaints seem bigger, but we had a work meeting today and, as has been the trend lately, they ordered lunch but did not bother to get a vegan option besides crappy iceberg lettuce salad. I get that I’m the only one, but there are local places with vegan options in our budget, and when everyone else gets free lunch I get a bit grumpy about it.

I mean, those are the complaints this thread is for. We just get exuberant

Had to explain to a vice president today that I am not a data scientist. Had to use those exact words.(Unlike @brute , I actually am not.)

I just finished moving to a new city last night, my dad worked basically by himself to unload/unpack all of my stuff, and did most of the driving(I have a bad back) and today I was so excited to take him to do fun things and eat delicious food so we could spend some time together before he flies home tomorrow…and instead my car decided to not start, I found out after buying a new battery that my starter is dead, and had to have my car towed and an $800 repair instead. UGH. He is so selfless and would help me with anything, but I could tell he was really frustrated and disappointed. I feel awful :disappointed:

I am organising a hen party for my housemate next week. A month and a half ago, I sent round an invite asking who could come and whether they were happy to chip in £25 towards to cost of the party (the proposed plan being a bunch of craft activities and Chinese takeout) . 8 people said they were happy to chip in, so I made a budget, figured out how much we’d need for takeout, and spent the rest on craft supplies. It’s now a week before and only 3 people actually sent me any money. When I chased, all 5 who haven’t paid already say they now can’t afford it. I am so torn between feeling scared for people that this really is unaffordable, and really annoyed that a) people are taking advantage of me (I obviously don’t know everyone’s circumstances, but one of the girls just bought a house and is constantly posting on facebook about her new decorations) and that b) they couldn’t have just told me up front (when I made it as easy as possible to say that on the invite - literally just a tick box), so that I could have planned accordingly.

Now I have to decide whether I do some sort of home cooked thing (changing the plans I told the bride and the stag party who are meeting us for dinner, as well as taking time I really don’t have this week), or just…pay for takeout for 10 myself. Either way I need to figure out how to do this without feeling resentful.

  • Daisy got me up at 3 because she urgently needed to go outside. That need evaporated when she saw that it was still winter outside. I did not fall back asleep.
  • A mouse ran across my foot
  • This morning the dishwasher died. The house is full of smoke.
  • Little dude is crying and nonfunctional because the house smells like burning plastic.
  • Bigger kid has been sick for a week and is not getting better
  • In an hour I have to go for a nerve conduction test. That’s when they electrocute your hands over and over.

Fuck today.

Yelling at an autistic kid for his sensory overload isn’t effective or constructive. Who could have known?

Hugs (or hug substitutes for non-huggy types) all around.

Kid filled his nose with toothpaste so he can’t smell the dishwasher.

All I did at the gym last night was walk on the treadmill and ride the exercise bike, exerting myself in a normal way and not overdoing it. Why in fuck, then, is the knee injury I got when I was 16 because my community theater’s choreographer thought it was OK to rehearse really jump-y routines on a concrete floor, flaring up for the first time in decades? My classes are way harder and I’ve been fine after those.

I have cramps. But at least my cycle has become ridiculously predictable since I moved from hormonal birth control to the copper IUD.
