Tiny Complaints

Two complaints:

  1. A bystander (pedestrian? What word am I looking for here?) made an extensive lewd gesture at me at an intersection today when I couldn’t get away. I yelled at him out my car window and he stopped and walked away. But still. NOT COOL.

I have Meralgia Paresthetica and I forgot.

I’ve been having this pain in my thigh for about 3-4 years, at one point I had a pain in my hip (same side) and I remember going to the doctor for it in like… 2016, but the visit and general outcome was kinda blurry in my memory.
Fast forward to now. I’ve been having pain in my right outer thigh/quad that’s grown increasingly bad over the last month or so. So much so that anything grazing it causes me to jump.
I google the specific feeling/symptoms: burning, numbness, pain on outer thigh and the first thing that comes up is Meralgia Paresthetica. It sounds familiar, so I noodle on it for a week or so and then today remember hearing that word at that doctors appointment in like 2016! I dig out my medical files and POOF, I had a diagnosis in 2016 of Meralgia Paresthetica. They gave me some PT exercises and I must have done them and the pain went away, but now it’s back 10 fold. BUT, I know what it is, which is good!
Hoping a few weeks of PT and then regular upkeep can kick this thing because WHOA is it painful.
Causes:
Weight gain
Tight Clothing
Scar tissue from past injury
Motor vehicle accident/seatbelt
They also noted excessive walking or running in tight clothing (presumably to remind me about skating at the time).
^ ALL of that shit exists in my life right now. I gained 35 lbs way too fast in like 2018 and it’s still mostly hanging around, Was in a car accident in August, Wear really tight pants every single day and to bed, walk 15 miles every day in said tight pants, have scar tissue around a small tear in that same quad. Well heck.

I am sorry for saying “cute!” out loud when I read this.

I am apparently just outside the area for my nearest Buy Nothing group, so they won’t let me join.

Also it’s REALLY not easy to find messages sent to you by people you aren’t friends with or messaging through Marketplace.

I’m bored but don’t want to actually do anything. Kind of wanna buy things. Like more fish and plants.

I really need a nap but I can’t seem to shut off my brain.

I bought store brand yeast and my pizza dough will not rise.

I feel guilty about getting rid of presents we’ve received even though they’re not at all appropriate for us (a toy that’s age 12+ for a toddler…?).

I borrowed a friends Amazon login to watch Ilana Glazer do stand up comedy and… I hate to say it, but it’s not great.

I dropped a family off at the Mexican border today, and could not walk across and have lunch because I had neither my passport nor shoes.

I’m going out to dinner tonight and I want to hide at home. Also for the toddler to go to bed at an hour that allows me to actually have a break… This might be too much to ask.

I decided to dye an old jumper of mine - it came out a lovely shade of green, but sadly I missed the bit where I shouldn’t have used a pan used for cooking. There goes our stock pot…

Can you just repeatedly boil water or water and vinegar and reclaim it?

I can boil it enough that there’s no visible dye coming off, but I don’t know how to tell at what point its safe, and given that it’s not just me who uses the pan I don’t know whether I should risk it

Is it stainless steel? If so, it should be totally fine.

I want to ride my bike but it is swirly gusty windy outside and I am a baby and I hate the wind. So I will be grumpy inside all day hiding from the wind instead.

Some sort of (slightly scratched) non-stick coating unfortunately. Maybe I’ll just try boiling it for ages until I feel safe-ish
