I was being snarky. It comes of being jealous of pretty much every other place on earth, normally, and once and a while having weather on par or sometimes even a little better than somewhere, for ten minutes or so.
Meanwhile in California, we’re burning up, literally and figuratively. 80s and 90s, hot wind, and fire everywhere. I was going to wear a Winnie the Pooh onesie on Thursday, but NOPE. I’ll melt.
The grocery store tried to help me with budgetober by not delivering my milk, dip, yoghurt or anything else that required refrigeration… Which was about half my order.
I’m up early for a dentist appointment and it’s dark and rainy out. And my feet are sore from all the house projects I did over the weekend, even though I took it easy yesterday. Basically a greatest hits album of my top tiny complaints.
At 8 am the sky is just starting to get light. Night keeps getting longer.
My dog gets up twice a night, on average. At 2 and 4 am she often urgently needs to go out. This means I go down narrow, railing-less stairs when not awake, twice a night. My left leg has been nonfunctional since Friday so the stairs are extra shitty. I am so tired.
I can’t find my travel mug so I can’t have coffee when I go out today.
On the bright side there are two animals in my lap right now.
There’s a wind storm. Lil Pup HATES the wind. It is her mortal enemy. Ever since she was a Tiny Pup. So she’s laying next to me, staring out the window, growling non stop at the trees blowing every which way.
We don’t really have wind chill because it is so dry here, though it is often very windy, which is butts. We currently have a wind advisory until 9pm tonight with winds up to 50mph. What the butt.
It did snow last night but only like an inch where I am, and it was the super dry little balls of snow almost like styrofoam beads that we get sometimes. But higher up the mountains they are using plows already. It is cold (30s) but the super cold is coming tonight and I am scared at what my gas bill will be this month already because my house is small and not a very good heat sink (and also has original windows, lol). All those temperatures in the screenshot are UNACCEPTABLE for October but tonight’s especially.
Something is leaking under my kitchen sink. There was water pooling, but when I actively watched I couldn’t find any evidence of the leak source. I tried both drains, the disposal, ran the dishwasher, nada. Which probably means that it’s coming from something behind the cabinet back or under the cabinet floor which is just WORSE.
Do you have a spray nozzle or pull out nozzle? Those can leak positionally. Or the mixing valve on the faucet. Either way, explore that faucet, I’ve had those leak a lot.
That’s the major frustration. One of our early leaks when we owned, I never quite found but I Fixed by pulling it apart, cleaning sediment, and reassembling. Worth a try?
