And mine.
I don’t have one, but I sure could use one. I can be stylish, too.
Would you like stickers? I have stickers on my kick scooter that i bought for mobility reasons and it’s delightful. I bet you could find some really cool niche ones on Etsy.
Didn’t mean to mislead- I’ve been using a trekking pole every time I leave the house for months. I just decided it’s time for a quad foot and also a different grip, so real cane it is. I guess that just makes it feel more real.
I hadn’t thought of covering it with stickers. I’ll definitely do that!
Eta ooh, and rhinestones!
@TrisPrior , how would you put beads on a cane?
We have an old station wagon to donate. Cannot find ANY of the car titles, etc. that should be in the file.

There’s 3 pieces of paper in the proper place and NONE of them are really important: an inspection pass, for example. We own all our vehicles NONE of the titles are there??? So they’re somewhere else, obviously.
But I haven’t a clue. WHY bother to do all the work to try and be more organized when it DOESNT WORK???
You can actually buy some really fancy canes! I have one with blue and purple flowers, and one that’s wooden with a silver head. There are whole catalogs!
Get the kind with a sword in it. In case you’re in an emergency duel.
Wonder if I could get one that would hold meds? That would be useful.
What I’m getting first, though, is one that’s $20.
Like a Pez Dispenser!
Depends, are we talking plastic Mardi Gras beads or rhinestones or something entirely different?
If I were doing this I would get some flat back beads or rhinestones and use Gem Tac glue. There are tools you can get to easily pick up the rhinestones so you are not using fingers which can be a huge pain in the ass.
I should note I never actually do this, see above re pain in the ass. ![]()
sat out on the new deck wearing shorts yesterday
last night & this morning discovered bug bites in places that don’t generally get bug bites, and can’t scratch in polite company.
I am getting so many bites this summer, also in places that are essentially always clothed.
The igniter on our favorite burner died so now we have to manually light it every time we use it or I have to figure out how to source a new igniter and install it. (Our super is useless.) (I already replaced the igniter for the oven like a year ago so I have confidence.)
the guy who was keeping our gas stove alive (replaced the oven thermostat twice) said that the burner igniters are like $250 and was personally offended by the cost. He told us to just use the bbq lighter until the stove fully died, so it sounds like the bigger issue will be sourcing, not the work to install it.
Oooof that sucks, the oven igniter was pretty cheap so I assumed it would be the same. It’s a super old/simple stove so idk whether that makes the part easier or harder to find at a good price.
EDIT: I need to do more research with the oven/serial number actually in front of me, but I think something like this or similar is what needs to be replaced and it’s only $30. So fingers crossed that’s the problem. Whirlpool 74004053 Range Top Burner Spark Igniter | Genuine OEM Part
fingers crossed. it’s funny how parts are either super cheap or unobtanium, with so little in between
I had thyroid surgery yesterday where the surgeon took out 2/3 of my thyroid. It still hurts today. This is bogus! My breast cancer lumpectomy did hurt at all. That seemed more serious going in.
TV: I can breathe easier now that my throat isn’t so constricted. Swallowing improvement waits until my throat doesn’t hurt.
Gosh, shadowmoss, that sounds like kind of a big deal. Take it easy and speedy healing to you!
Revision to TV: I ignored the problem temporarily and the burner randomly started working again.
Naproxen is not nearly as nice feeling during recovery as oxycodone .
TV: I was enjoying the oxy a bit too much and made myself switch.
