My mom’s attempted reduction of social media has clearly failed. She’s sending me tons of FB messenger videos and is back to loudly watching videos when over to our house (they are very short visits, no reason to use your phone tbh). Which of course draws the kids’ attention like no other 
and of course half of it is AI slop she can’t ID.

We’ve had our cat Emma insured since she was 1 year old, because she eats things (she would steal masks out of our friends’ pockets and eat the cords!!). The vet recommended Trupanion, but it’s gotten more and more expensive. After Anneke had an $8K hospital stay a couple of years ago, I decided to insure all of our cats. Trupanion was much too expensive at this point, so we went with HealthyPaws. Turns out I like HealthyPaws much better! It was cheaper AND the reimbursement process is so much easier, just submit the receipts, don’t need to fill in a form! Their website is sooooooooo much better, too.
Today I got Emma’s new policy and they changed her $500 deductible from annually to per accident/illness!! I am so pissed, glad I’m the kind of person who notices the details. I can’t get 90% coverage on her anymore due to age but I started an 80% Healthy Paws plan for her and will cancel Trupanion after the 15 day waiting period. The coverage is less but the monthly price is also about half, so I think we’ll likely save money.
I’m also trying to increase the Healthy Paws deductibles for our other cats but the confirmation button isn’t working!! So I need to make a phone call

neighbour’s tree just had a large branch come down, so that means that of the 4 beautiful trees we had around us when we first moved in, forming a squirrel super highway overhead, we probably shortly will be down to one
eta: and that means the vast majority of our summer shade for the house is gone as well. Just the one backyard tree left.

My tomato crop is a total fail this year. Something is stealing my unripe tomatoes right off of the plants. I had a huge heirloom coming and found TEETH MARKS in it.
Why is this happening in a year when food prices are insane? It is inportant to me to generate my own food and this year has been a disaster.
My friend told me that the culprit is likely rats. RATS?!?
