Tiny Complaints

We went to go see a movie in theater earlier this year as a family, two adults and one kid. Afternoon showing. It was more than two ad-free streaming services put together.

We go to the movies a lot, and go in the afternoon. Before 4, so it’s matinee pricing.

Monday, seniors and kids are $6, and Tuesday is senior day. If you go to the Mystery Movie on Monday night, I think it’s $5, but it’s a gamble because it’s a mystery. Lol

Also I have the theatre’s “card” so every so often there’s enough points for a free ticket.

I like going to the movies and we go pretty often, mostly with W.

Dd says W wasn’t much interested in watching movies on tv until we started taking them to the theatre, and now he is. It’s just a different thing.

How dar from a big town do you live? Because I am 100% sure people would all drive to x town if it had a theatre with half off.

Ticket pricing is mysterious and always more than $13. You can get costco or CAA tickets though!

I put three pills down on the counter. I distinctly remember taking two of them. I went to take the third and it wasn’t there. Did I take it? Don’t know. Also not on the ground

More than an hour, so gas and time driving would make it not worth it unless there were other things you were doing there.

I paid $25 to see Wicked at the imax but usually we go to the movie theater down the street on $6 Tuesdays. I don’t know what they normally charge.

I think I have seen all the shows. That are on all the streaming services. There are probably some out there I haven’t seen… but I’m currently in an entertainment hole. Yes I could read a book

I have one episode left of Pluribus.

If there are any shows out there (don’t have to be recent!) that exist on HBO, Netflix, or Apple TV that you consider to be deep cuts, share your recs with me.

Somebody, Somewhere

Joe Pera Talks With You

How To with John Wilson

ETA: The Chair Company

Three of these are weird comedy things you may not like. I haven’t seen chair company yet myself

I watched episode 1 of The Artist yesterday. On The Network, a free streaming service. Mandy Patinkin and a bunch of other huge, brilliant actors in this chaotic, intense situation.

Somebody, Somewhere is brilliant. I’ve seen one episode of John Wilson. Thanks for the other ideas!

Netflix: have you seen Dark? The first episode is slightly horror but it’s not a horror show. It’s in German and the casting is superb. At some point you might have to refer to the spoiler-free online website to not get confused by who is who, but it’s so good. I won’t spoil why the casting is phenomenal.

If the promotion is still running, Starz recently had one that was $12 for a whole year! Apparently Outlander is really good.

@Bernadette told us all about a really great hockey documentary on HBO called Heated Rivalry :sweat_smile:

Probably not to be watched around little kids unless you want to do a lot of explaining.

Oh trust me I’ve watched it. Strangely it didn’t teach me anything about hockey?!?

Huh. That is strange! It’s also been renewed for a second season.

Maybe that’s when they teach about hockey. We should watch closely to be sure.

Starting to look at shelter cats (it’s been over a year since Patch passed away, and the house is too empty), and the bonded pair of 6 year olds that look like the best option just got moved an hour and change south of here two days ago. Still possible to go down and meet them, but a lot harder, not to mention a worse drive back for all involved if we do get along.
