Tiny Complaints

If I give it less extraction and add a bit of salt I can counteract the bitterness. I’m going to try a few things before I throw it out.

I scheduled my target order to be delivered after 5pm so it would be sitting out for hours.

My shopper is on their way to my place. It is 11:38am.

HOA fee is increasing again. This is the 4th or 5th time in less than 4 years? Sigh. It’s a good thing I love my damn house!! :unamused:

I went to the grocery store today, the Monday before (American) Thanksgiving, to pick up a prescription and a couple other things. I didn’t bother trying to park close to the front because it was going to be busier than usual and it was almost lunch time. By the time I left it was difficult getting out of the parking lot because of people circling for parking or waiting for someone to leave so they could take the newly opened spot.

I need to go back later today or tomorrow for another prescription that wasn’t ready yet (I should’ve called it in sooner, that’s on me).

Bachelor behavior complaint.

I decided giddily this morning that I was going to have one of these tiny pizzas that I got for myself as a treat-for breakfast! Wild behavior.

I burnt it.

Then I got the second tiny pizza out of my freezer (they were two for $1.75) and… I also burnt it.

No treat for me. :pensive:

My “box lady” (I save up my shipping boxes until I have a bunch, and then she comes and picks them up very reliably, for the last few years) said she acquired a lot of perfect boxes for what she sells and she won’t need any more. End of an era.

sink is 1/2" too narrow for the majority of dish drains. Things I didn’t expect I should have had to look up before buying a new sink (and the sink manufacturer doesn’t even make drains to fit their sinks, just prep bowls and colanders, I suppose because they assume people won’t be hand washing things? idk).

to be fair, our last sink also didn’t fit modern dish drains, and we literally kept ours together with duct tape and twist tie wires.

Try winners for non standard shapes and sizes?

amusingly, https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/hultarp-dish-drainer-black-60448766/ which is built to be hung on a rod is the only thing I’ve found that should fit

Sigh.
I attempted to make another treat this evening to “make up for” ruining my treat earlier.

Also a no-go.

Forget it I’m going to bed.

I’m beginning to suspect your oven runs hotter than its thermostat claims.

I am mad at your oven

Oh, a year ago when I tried making bread I discovered that our (ancient) oven is running 20 degrees low and claimed that it was preheated in just 10 minutes! Resulting in a bread that was basically half raw dough inside which fermented overnight and became very gross :joy:

I bought a little oven thermometer and when we heat up our premade Thanksgiving dinner this year I’m going to actually get it hot, not just warm like it was that year! Oven thermometers getting less accurate over time is a common thing.

I think y’all are giving me a little bit too much credit – I’m really really bad cool and I’m pretty sure this was all me.
However, I do cook in a toaster oven that is outside on my porch (I’m a hillbilly), so I’m pretty sure the temperature is all over the place :joy:

Put the instapot out there! It’s safe enough for inside but that way you know it won’t break anything. I did mine outdoors first and I still do if I cook beef.

Do you think it’s safe to have it outside with the temperature variation - like is it OK to have very cold air around it while it’s cooking? Would that make it more dangerous somehow?

I don’t really understand how things explode, but I think about my water heater exploding almost every single day, so it’s definitely an anxiety point for me
