Maryland sends an “I voted” sticker with mail-in ballots but they’re stuck right on the paper instructions. Why bother if I can’t stick it wherever I want? Just print it on!

I fell off my bike on the way to work because I slipped on leaves on a slick surface while making a turn, but I was proud of myself for getting back on the bike and going to work (I probably will have bruises but wasn’t hurt otherwise)
And then I fell off my bike again on the way home entirely through stupidity so now I’m going to have two sets of bruises and this was on pavement so I scraped up my hands
And the first fall snapped my mirror off and the second one scraped up my pedal really badly

I bought it in July and it was my first even very minor accident
I rode it home through a thunderstorm in August and was totally fine
I have had very stupid and painful bike falls before this, but I thought I was a better biker now. Wishful thinking I guess

I wanted buttered toast for breakfast. Open the butter dish on the counter, empty. Ok fine, I’ll use the spreadable margarine we keep on hand when vegans come over. Almost completely empty. I manage to scrape out just barely enough for one piece of toast.

Several times now an ebook finally came off hold from my library but won’t sync to my Kobo. It turns out that the Overdrive catalog doesn’t match the Kobo catalog. I’m super annoyed about it. The solution is apparently to check out books from my Kobo (where titles not in the catalog will just not show up) and not from my library website.

Only titles with compatible Kobo versions will appear when browsing on your Kobo. If a title doesn’t have a Kobo version, it will only visible in Libby or your library’s OverDrive website.
Unfortunately, the OverDrive content team doesn’t determine what content is available in the Kobo format.

Apparently Kobo format is different from Overdrive format. Or the catalog is different. I don’t know

I thought it went up $2500 but I was remembering the tax from two years back because it only went up about $1K. Because apparently last year it was already $12500
The calculation is very confusing and basically it’s a combination of assessed value (max 3% annual increase) and education taxes based on real market value and bonds that were voted in. I think in a few years we’re going to be paying $20K a year in property taxes…

I’m looking at the history of the assessed and real market values and THANK GOODNESS none of it looks like it went up due to the renovation. Our home exterior is a bit beat up and if the assessor had looked in the kitchen window we still have original oak cabinets. If he had peeked in the basement window it looks nice but he didn’t see the “before” state. So glad Marmalade didn’t let him in and I never followed up to make an appointment like he requested-- maybe he only reassesses if you let him in! I’m sure he’s busy enough.
I voted by mail and the sticker that came with it said “ I voted by mail”. Pretty sucky! How hard would it have been to put a cute on inside? 
I will have to see what sticker my coworkers get when they vote in person. I heard each location got to choose which one they wanted.
Bummer! Why do they have to differentiate? I voted by mail too, and got a pretty basic USA USA USA! looking sticker, but I still appreciate the sticker because I put it on my November page in my paper planner, and I can’t imagine not getting to do so.
