Tiny Complaints

Kiddo woke up at 4am to pee but then came into our room so now I’m awake too. Mr. Meer probably is too, he moved out to the couch.

So excited to get her another night of six hours of sleep just because my brain didn’t want to go back to sleep.

Solidarity. Luigi decided to pee on the rug at 5:45 and I couldn’t get back to sleep either.

Good boy? At least you now know that a mouse got in somehow.

Yeah, he was quite pleased with himself (and less pleased with my “GAHHH!” and the fact that his mouse was immediately removed to the garbage). And I’m about 90% sure that it came from the wall that I share with a neighbor since there’s a spot where he just tends to sit and stare, but I’m still going to go through everything even vaguely food-adjacent and do a lot of checking. And probably bleaching. So far nothing in the most obvious places (pantry and lower cabinet that has food), but definitely work to be done.

Ohhhh worst part of shared walls. Glad you have a mouser!

bugs 🤢

Earwigs. Omg the earwigs. They’re coming inside. That’s bad enough. But today. TODAY. One fell into the sink as I was rinsing the baby’s lunch bib. AFTER LUNCH. It was in there while she was WEARING IT. I cannot. Need to burn down my house now.:nauseated_face::nauseated_face::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Someone has the audacity to be hanging out in the park by my house on this beautiful summer evening. The dogs are losing their minds with rage at the situation.

Can they please chill? No? Or freak out more quietly at least?

Noooooooooo. Nightmares!! Earwigs are the worst!

I’m sorry they were near your baby. Mine like the litter box.

Yeah the whole “pest on my child” situation has turned out to be a massive trigger for me. We had an ant infestation right after she was born, and at one point I found a few fleas on the couch, and it spiraled me HARD. So this is not sitting well for my psyche in the least.

I made a roast chicken for dinner and it smelled amazing in the oven, I was so hungry. Now I’ve eaten but since it was Healthy Food my body is still waiting for the rest of my dinner (carbs preferably, sugar also acceptable) to actually feel satiated. Bah.

Third illness in 5 weeks. (One of those being Covid and I was sick for two weeks) ITS SUMMER WTF. We haven’t even started inside school for the kid!

I once again failed to get a hotel coffee machine to make coffee and put it into a mug under the nozzle. there are some grounds, a bit of water in the cup, and rather more water plus the pod in the pod disposal bit. at least this time I didn’t end up with scalding water on my hands and feet.

Yup - it’s been a rough summer for illness. The urgent care doctor says that he’s seeing a spike in late summer illness, a lot of it Covid but not all.

We are sick constantly over here this summer :weary:

I am having 75% of a full mental breakdown about the concept of packing a suitcase for a week and leaving my house tomorrow.

I wish I was joking. It’s not that hard. Except I guess it is? Currently? For me?

Also my cat is trying to eat my vegan corn dogs which is a thing he probably won’t like anyway

30 minutes of being dragged over cobbles in a suitcase was too much for the seal of one of the cans of coke zero lemon, and so of course it was not in a plastic bag and it was directly on top of the shadowy one’s shirt purchased specifically for tomorrow’s wedding, and my orange jedi jacket.
