The local buy nothing/gifting group in my mom’s area is crazy busy! I have managed to get a new sink protector, a brand new shirt I really like, some little tiny quote books to gift to friends, and 8 barely used nail polishes with colours I would not buy but I’m open to trying.
I bought a Metlox mixing bowl (with chips) for $3. Metlox/Poppytrial was our “local” pottery place when I was a small kid. We would go every year or 2 and get the odd bits we’d broken. I remember it vividly. I always loved this color and it isn’t exactly used almost anywhere else, so I was psyched!
$8 and worked out for my partner’s companionship worker’s little one. She took partner with her to give it to her boy and I got a video of him trying it out. That was $8 well spent!
Reviving this! I have a goal to only thrift clothing and not buy new in 2026, as well as get as many other goods used as I can.
I got a used softshell Mammut jacket for $17 (size L but a squeeze on me, probably for big niece/SIL) and a men’s Banana Republic Merino sweater (brand new) for $7 that is for me.
Still no dollhouse.
This week I bought a bunch of scarves to wrap Christmas presents in at 50 cents apiece. Going to have some extras, but that’s okay since I spent $9 total. Any that I don’t want / relatives don’t want will go right back to the thrift store.
I got DH a hand knit Woolrich sweater at the local cheap church charity clothes shop. It was $1. Score!
Ok I’ve been posting my general thrifted items in my journal but here are the ones that feel like SCORES
I can’t find a tag on this shirt at all but I love it.
Leather jacket, $20. Pristine condition.
Ooh, I forgot this thread existed! Posted in tiny victories, but today I scored a 100% merino wool sweater / top for $3.50.
