The Unf*ck It Thread

I’m organizing and purging Kiddo’s toys today. Wish me luck. This isn’t even everything.

I will have questions later about if stuff is donate-able.

Behold how much gross I got out of my couch with @Economista’s machine! Then just for good measure I did another pass rinsing because I hate soap residue, and got even more yuck out.

Isn’t it so satisfying?!

OMG we have the same Corelle set  Ours is handed down from Human’s family.

Always weird but fun to see your stuff in someone else’s house

How funny! We got ours new a couple of years ago with some Christmas money. A big set. For a family of five, with 10 big plates. Because before that we had a bunch of mismatched stoneware, some of it from my first marriage and some from Goodwill and some from the Boy’s divorce apartment via Walmart, and the child who empties the dishwasher kept smashing them. These have been much more resistant to adolescent carelessness.

I used to have one of those Corelle plates hahaha. Just one though.

Our Corelle is primarily that pattern, though I’ve mixed and matched in any pattern with blue in it over the years as I found it at thrift stores.

My plan for this weekend is cleaning my garage. It’s unfinished so cobwebs, leaves and other crap collect on the framing and in corners. Everything will be moved and vacuumed around. I haven’t even started and I’m dreading it. I’m also having a new bigger workbench built in a couple of weeks so it will all get reorganized. You know you’re old when a new garage workbench is exciting. I did just buy and hang up 4 new LED strip lights as the first step…

New garage workbench is ALWAYS exciting, no matter your age. There is literally no time in my life I would not have been excited about a workbench.

And surfaces for HAMMERING!

(I hammered my first rivet a month and a half ago and it was a delight, I tell you, a delight.)

My whole kitchen is clean!!! We are doing work in the basement and so keeping up with the rest of the house has basically not happened.

Also decided I did not care if the basement was done to do a bunch of moving around and set up our new coffee bar. It’s going to move eventually but it’s so dang cute.

Wizard unfucked his desk with very little prompting from me other than “let’s do a 15 minute cleaning session.” Living room looks 500% better.

Garage is clean! It took 6 hours. Ugh. It can’t get completely organized until the new workbench is done but it’s a very good start.

thanks :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: it’s definitely a lovely room to spend time in!

I didn’t get a before photo, but my closet has been unfucked for the first time since…2020? Two bags to the thrift store, one bag to sell when the weather turns. I have so many empty hangers now, and a clear idea of what I have. I already have outfit ideas brewing with what’s left!

Deep cleaned my kitchen sink drains! Did not know how badly it needed to happen until I did it. I wish I took before and after pics.
