Unscheduled Unfucking:
Yesterday the Boy picked up a half-gallon glass carton of milk and IT FUCKING EXPLODED. Glass and milk everywhere. So after we got up all the glass and milk (a herculean task in itself), I cleaned the cabinet fronts, mopped the floor extra well and then did a vinegar rinse, and we pulled out the fridge and stove and cleaned under them, too. (When I asked my husband to turn off the stove at the breaker, I accidentally found out that he did not know that “range” means “stove/oven combination unit.” Well, he does now!) The kitchen looks amazing!

We made it to the end of the school year!
Everything has fallen apart in the last week or so as we persisted heads down to the finish line.
May I present a selection of rooms in our house that require unfucking. Actually the kids bedroom is the only one in decent shape at the moment.

I’ve been working on visible spaces and making no traction because the storage spaces were overflowing and so nothing was actually going away.
I finished the linen closet, for now anyway. Next up:
Walk in wardrobe of main bedroom.
Then some of the stuff that’s been living permanently “out” because it had no home is gonna get a cozy new place to live.

The best thing about rooms that require unfucking is that you don’t have to spend a lot of time unfucking for it to feel a LOT better. Just getting a few things put away/tossed brings a lot of relief.

Mr Pancakes took the kids out on the weekend and I did some stuff while they weren’t around to undo it as I go 
The kitchen is still a bit fucked. Why is there a packet tent pegs on the bench? We don’t have a tent 
. I’m not sure where we keep tent pegs. It is a lot better though!
Edit: I see in that photo my plant needs a water.

I’m so close to having the study nook unfucked so I can sew there while the kids play in the loungeroom.
They might not actually let me sew even if I’m there, but there will be a general feeling that sewing could be happening.
