The Unf*ck It Thread

I unfucked my laundry. Now it has a rail to hang things off and little hanging shelves and shit. It’s almost FUNCTIONAL. I will know once it’s been a week and I can see how quickly it becomes a horrendous mess again. All of those dishes piled up have just been washed.

Hmmm this enormous pile of washing on the living room floor. I could have done it tonight but I opted to lay on the sofa scrolling on my tablet, glancing over periodically to frown about how it’s still there.

It’s very dark because my light bulbs are telling me to go to bed, but the pile of washing is making me uncomfortable about going to bed.

Desk moderately unfucked! Went through and got rid of expired coupons, move some stuff upstairs to the filing cabinet, got rid of no longer pending checks and “maybe returns?” Receipts. Not much visual difference but a tiny area I could enact control, hallelujah.

Also sent a giant bin of my brothers crap to his house from our garage since he has a garage now.

Today’s task is to unfuck the giant pile of stuff in the study. The state of the study floor is in constant flux - sometimes it’s quite navigatable, and sometimes it’s completely covered, and right now there are clear piles (though the contents of the piles are poorly defined).

We are working SO hard at unfuckingthe garage. I wish I had taken before photos. Donations are gone. Area as we come and go is improving- shelf unit has been rotated to open it up, shoe rack has been replaced by a shoe bench, and we will soon hang the shelf with hooks above the bench. I’ll take after photos when we’re done.

I have had it on my list to make the bedroom less insane for about a month. But here we are.

I wanna nap instead of this tho.

I love your sheets and this room looks so cheery and cozy!

I had the same thought an hour ago, to tidy up my room, but I fear I’ve joined your cat instead

Haha! Phillip has been good company. As in, he doesn’t really do anything but lie there like a loaf.

Nevermind. As soon as I said that, there was movement.

This is very cosy. It will feel great when you relax in it later.

Latte decided to solve my table woes. She now climbs onto the chair, stands on it, and clears the whole table. God save me. Nowhere is safe.

A crude tool, but effective.

I’m sitting on a queen bed, surrounded by clean washing. Will it be put away by the end of today? Stay tuned to find out after the ad break!

Ideas for degreasing kitchen cabinets that have a wood facade? Would Dawn and some elbow grease work? I’ve recently realized that the cabinets above the stove are NASTY.

If Simple Green is available that would work? It comes in a bleach sized Jug here.

I don’t know! Maybe? My last job, we used that to mop floors. Is it good on nasty meat grease?
