If she wasn’t Russian she would have been sent home by now.
They need to increase the age limit for participation. If minors skate under different rules, then minors shouldn’t be allowed. It’s RIDICULOUS that she is being allowed to skate in the women’s event. What a black cloud over skating.

In more fun news YAY for ice dancing.
I watched a grand prix when I was in labor with my first baby (sad story if you know it), and Maddie and Zach skated to Hallelujah, so I always think of them as Sean’s team. And now they have an Olympic Medal!
Also, I saw a comment that said “They look like they shared a limo to prom”. And that seems so true here. They are all so coordinated.
This made me laugh.

Papadakis & Cizeron committed so much to this olympics (including skipping last season so they had more time to prepare their programs, skipping Europeans this year), I’m glad they were rewarded.

Sha’Carri’s difference has a lot to do with her being under the jurisdiction of USADA instead of corrupt RUSADA

What Sha’Carri is saying also reminds me of Christine Mboma and Beatrice Masilingi. They weren’t American (both are Black though) and they were banned immediately for having higher than average but entirely naturally occurring testosterone levels. They weren’t even taking anything and their heightened levels were so minor that neither woman had any idea they had a hormone imbalance (meaning the higher testosterone each woman had didn’t cause any visible side effects or impact to cycles, puberty, development, and was undetected by their doctors up to that point, etc). Like 
big time. It feels like a racial and a substance-related double standard.

Do you have more info on this? I haven’t seen it come across my news feeds and when I try to search the algorithm only shows me stuff about the first positive.
It’s in russian but you can use google translate. It isn’t a banned substance yet but it is on the consideration list, similar to TMZ- hypoxon. Her weird doctor is the person with the patent for it in Russia

There is no precedent for letting someone skate while being investigated.
Hell, Kostner was banned for her boyfriend doping!

The real issue here is that WADA has no rules about provisional suspension for a protected person. That hasn’t been tested yet. we have to raise the age.
I watched the whole IOC press conference yesterday and it was a mess.
