The Not Pregnant...Yet Thread

I hope so too. Honestly, my postal people are a little dishonest but I usually get the item eventually. They fudge when they tried to deliver kind of frequently. I try to have compassion for them—maybe their superiors have unreasonable expectations and that is why they lie—but it’s hard when it’s important stuff. It’s silly how something could make it all the way from Israel to New York in three days, and from New York to my home post office in Los Angeles in a day, but my home post office can’t successfully bring it less than a mile in a day.

Hormone panel came back and they said everything looks good:

6.9 LH
7.7 FSH
62.4 Estradiol

I forget what all of those are and am too exhausted to figure it out but I’m glad they are good.

FSH is below 8, that’s great for your age. Good odds for IVF number. I think estradiol below 60 is what my clinic always looked for for adequate suppression? So with a non-suppressed cycle that’s pretty good I think. It will rise as follicles develop. LH I don’t really remember how it factors into an IVF cycle. I suppose a really high LH would prevent you from being able to use an LH trigger? Either way, doesn’t raise any alarm bells for me.

Hope that helps, give some extra reassurance but also save the time on the research.

For my second cycle, my meds were held up coming into the country. We definitely had to stand around while someone crawled into the back of a truck to try to find our package early one morning so that I could start my meds that day. It’s very stressful! I’m sorry you’re facing that as well.

It does help, thanks! Maybe . . . I will be able to get a baby?

I’m sorry that happened to you too. It would make more sense to me if it had gotten held up getting into the country instead of, y’know, down the street. LOL. Fingers crossed that I am able to intercept it at the post office in the morning.

Man, that acupuncture really shook some things loose…

Not only did my period come right away but I was finally just able to poo for the first time in three days. IDK why I have been having issues since I eat a ton of fruits and veggies, stay pretty well hydrated, and do psyllium every few days. I’m wondering if it’s due to some of the new supplements I’ve added. But I definitely feel the, uh, unblocked energy now.

Ugh. Occurred to me I can’t put my fancy new flannel on our bed, because if clinic and IVF meds and pregnancy were any indications, I’ll be waking up in pools of sweat starting tomorrow. And flannel takes longer to dry than thin cotton does :face_with_spiral_eyes:

At least I remember from the clomic to take it at night because I’ll probably feel nauseous :grimacing: just gotta remember it won’t be as bad as IVF lol. (Sorry @wooljaguar !)

Still no Menopur. I dragged my ass down to the post office at like 8:40, waited, and talked to a lady, only to find out that the post office closest to me, the one I’d visited yesterday where the guy had told me to come back in the morning, was not even the one my package was being handled out of. Apparently my zip code is split into two parts and the “low numbers” are serviced out of one a few blocks down the road. It would have been nice to find that out yesterday, but that guy apparently gave zero fucks. So at 8:53, I raced down there, trying to get there before 9:00.

I got there within three minutes, only to find that the box window person at that location doesn’t open until 9:00 on the dot. There were two people waiting at that window in front of me, so I tried going to the counter but she referred me back to the box window line. The first person in line talked to the box window clerk, who then went away for a very long time, as I stood and looked at my watch and realized with a sinking sensation that I was not going to be able to speak to anyone before my 9:30 class AND if the trucks were leaving with the boxes, it was probably already happening.

So I decided to give up and go home and just wait for it, figuring that I can start it anytime today. The doctor had told me I have about an hour of wiggle room when I take it, so I imagine I can just bump it up an hour each day until I’ve reached a good time, no matter what time it arrives. So I’ve kept checking the tracking, waiting to see it go back to being out for delivery, and it just hasn’t yet. I’m on hold with the 800 number to see if they can tell me what the heck that means.

Verdict: not bad. Menopur and Gonal-F burn way less than Lovenox or ketamine.

Just for fun, I plugged in the numbers to see what would happen if my transfer occurred on projected 5 DPO of my next cycle as it currently is listed. Due date, 12/19. Commencement date for autumn graduation? 12/18. LOLOL

I could TASTE the Gonal-F pen. Swear to God. I am happy if you can skip that particular side effect!

Wait, what does it taste like? Because I literally JUST thought to myself “what is that weird AF bitter, metallic aftertaste to my delicious kombucha and why isn’t it going away?”

I can’t speak for this but I dislike the way IV fluids taste… They’re salty.

Yes, it is a metallic taste. For me it started within seconds of injection. It helped a little if I chewed gum during the process. For my second retrieval, I asked for vials instead and did not have this problem.

Bought at Costco and take with water. Much easier med protocol than IVF lol. Okay, time for some for hot flashes!

Starting to have nightmares about triplets. :weary:

Okay I looked it up and twin to twin transfusion syndrome CANNOT happen in fraternal twins, plus the rate on femara is “only” 3.5%. So that made me feel better at least.

Last I checked (which was admittedly over two years ago) letrozole was much more likely than Clomid to produce monofollicular cycles. You are getting a monitoring ultrasound, yes? My clinic wouldn’t do the IUI with more than two dominant follicles, and I only ever made one clear winner anyway.
