Yeah, 3.5% for letrzole versus 7.5% for clomid is a 2014 study I just saw cited. Both of those are lower than I’ve seen before, but I don’t know if we’ve gotten better at dosing?
They will do a CD11 scan but a, I might get my surge before then and b, how does it work if I’m having gamete present sex at home though? They could skip the IUI part, but the follicles and sperm would be there already (in theory, lol).
I wouldn’t know. If you’re very concerned about multiples, I’d ask your clinic if you should abstain other than the IUI, which is more easily canceled.
Oh well if you mean right before the IUI they’ll have him abstain for his sample I’m sure. Like a day or two. Although they haven’t given me that instruction either.
I can’t really remember now, I thought it was the whole time up until the IUI, I vaguely recall it being to avoid multiples but not sure seems like it would be better to have more chance of success though? Now I want to see if I still have the paperwork with the drug calendar somewhere!
I did, in fact, wake up drenched in sweat. But luckily the only wake up I remember is when I got up at 6:30, I don’t remember any overnight. And I was already covered in sweat when I awoke, rather than having to experience the hot flash as it rolled. So that’s nice
I suppose you could split the difference and wait until the monitoring ultrasound. I know a few single moms by choice have done IUI and then been told “now go home and have sex!” which is but also a good backup if it is a possibility in one’s TTC setup.
I guess the tricky thing is my shitfuck follicular phase. It’s entirely possible I’ll surge the day of CD11 when I have the monitoring U/S. (Although CD12 is more common for me).
Speaking of, I need to go out and track down the specific type of fancy OPK they want me to have. Amazon estimates march 18th delivery And of course it’s not the clear blue one everyone has, it’s the OTHER clear blue one.
I have no idea. I’m going to follow the advice, but I do think it’s interesting because historically I’ve only been able to pick up my surges with my evening urine. I don’t know if it’s the highest concentration of hormones for most people or something? But this is definitely a document that is given to all patients with either TI or IUI.
