That is so frustrating.
I used it for the first time last night on the default setting (10 minutes red light, though I suspect the lowest level of red light as it didn’t feel warm at all). The product is hefty and seems like high quality, totally worth $60 (JJ you are amazing for finding the Chinese source!). I plugged both the mask and controller in USB chargers but it turns out that the mask doesn’t need to be charged, it gets plugged into the controller for energy.
I’m glad I got white, it still looks scary but I think black would be even more terrifying! ![]()
Will continue to use with a higher level of red light next time! Has anyone tried adding the infrared setting at the same time?
Sorry I should have mentioned that the controller is where you charge it!
And heat doesn’t necessarily mean anything. I use mine on the highest setting a few times a week and it only really gets barely warm. So don’t worry! Glad it’s working ok for you! ![]()
If I had read the instructions instead of being like “here’s a plug so I’ll put it in a charger!” I would have figured it out haha. But I don’t think I damaged anything!
Good to know that it may not warm up. But I may bump up the intensity and see what happens ![]()
I’ve never read the instructions for basically nearly anything I’ve ever used, so I feel you. ![]()
Dipping my toe in here because I figure y’all might know the answer.
Kiddo will have PE every day in the fall. The paper from school encourages sunscreen. If sunscreen is applied at 7am and PE isn’t till noon, is it still doing anything?
And I thought about doing spray on, but if I mainly want to target his face then I have to spray it in my hand first anyway so the spray part seems less useful then. Normally I only put it on him on the rare times we go to the beach, so any thoughts on how to make this process easier makes it more likely to actually happen.
I can’t answer whether or not it’s doing anything but sunscreen advice is so prolific that I assume it must be doing something. I would probably get this little applicator to make it easier.
Disclaimer: I do not have this but I know someone who swears by it. Amazon.com: Solar Buddies Sunscreen Applicator – Nude– Refillable Roll-on Sponge for Sunscreens & Lotions – For Kids, Adults & Families – Holds 3.4Fl Oz – Perfect for Travel : Health & Household
Mineral stick sunscreen seems to last all day for us. B1 took some to school to try to avoid morning application but quit after 3 days. I also just stripe it on and let them decide if they rub it in or not
I’m a major forum lurker so I should know, but don’t - remind me the age bracket of kiddo?
If he’s old enough to handle a stick sunscreen maybe he can apply himself every day before PE and check a little card or something every time and if he does it every day he gets $5?
^ please disregard if not appropriate. I have no idea how to parent nor do I do a good job with sunscreen. I’m just rambling ![]()
He’s 11 but with ADHD, and protecting his skin from sun is just not a high priority for him. ![]()
We already do a thing at home for eye patching with a sticker chart but neither of us is great at remembering to add a sticker lol.
Unless he’s sweating profusely or swimming, I do think it will last. A reapplication would be ideal, but a morning application isn’t useless. And yes, mineral probably does stick better. But Korean sunscreens with a the A+++ ratings would certainly work well also.
My nibling does not have adhd, but when we are skiing, a bit of chocolate/candy gets attached to the stick sunscreen with a hair tie or rubber band as an incentive to remember to reapply at lunch. Idk how that works for school/the schedule but it was pretty effective.
But if he can’t/won’t, sunscreen in the morning should still be doing something. Most adults who are srs bzns aren’t reapplying face sunscreen at lunch.
Useless for school but I definitely traded sunscreen participation for freezies today
We use powdered sunscreen for faces, and it’s super easy for kids to do themselves. The powder is attached to an application brush and they just brush their faces. We actually use this all over for D2, but on faces for everyone. It’s just so dang easy.
My most recent saved for skincare item has arrived!
In order to be responsible I plan to wait another pay cycle to get the skin boosters that I want to use for my first home microneedling session, but it’ll happen soon! One step closer.
I love the name of this so much
Me too. ![]()
It’s supposed to be the best out there for at home devices plus the name makes me giggle. Win-Win.
Apparently, the inventor/owner is a bit of a character and the website also looks like a Dr. Bronner’s bottle, but it in fact wasn’t a scam & did arrive!
TIL that the Dr Bronners folks are staunchly Free Palastine so I love them even more
What are the skin boosters?
I plan to use Hyaron as my “glide” during microneedling and Jeunetique across my whole face upon completion.
I think I’ll get enough to do maybe five or six sessions and then reevaluate at that point to see if I want to try something else.
