I fell down a YouTube rabbit hole and watched some stuff on red light therapy for the face. Has anyone heard about it or know anything about it?
I changed one product and my face is all whiteheads. Why did I do it
Nooooo
I very much want to spend like $400 on one. Except for the spending $400 part. But yes, I want one. But a very specific one because all sorts of things matter. The number of lights, the joules of the lights, the distance from your skin, the specific wavelengths used, the intensity of the lights, and let’s not forget the comfort of the mask. It won’t do you any good if you hate putting it on!
But I don’t know if I’ll ever have one, because that’s a lot of money. There are cheaper ones, for sure, but if they’re not effective then what’s the point? The other ones that seem to be effective based on all those things I listed above are also nearly as expensive.
Were some of the videos you watched by Hot and Flashy? She did two of them, I think, and hers are pretty informative. She makes a nice chart with all the numbers to compare.
Fwiw, for people who like the neutrogena hydro boost REGULAR stuff (not unscented), Costco has mega size containers for $19 right now! Whereas I just spent $16 for a container half the size of the no fragrances stuff.
Oooooohhh
Should I get prp, seven star needling, botox, or all three?
Is this just about face skincare?
Because I have gross nasty rough feet and I have no idea what to use on them.
Castor oil or vaseline under your socks. Repeat through the day. Consider something lightly antifungal just in case. You can soak and exfoliate or just exfoliate. Salt or baking soda or both with a drop of olive oil make a nice scrub.
That’s probably part of the problem, I’m almost always barefoot unless leaving the house. Rarely wear socks. I guess I should start? I think we have some vaseline. No castor oil, but we have mineral oil. Maybe this is a good use for the Ordinary rosehip seed oil that my face isn’t a fan of?
I do have a free sample of some scrub but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything. It does smell nice.
This sounds like a perfect use case for Baby Feet: have you tried it before? You can get it on Amazon and lots of other places.

I would wear the socks medicinally, either overnight or for 6h or so until your heels are awesome. Then you only need to do it occasionally if you start to get rough
I haven’t - it sounds sort of fascinatingly gross!
I wonder though - does it remove literally all calluses? I’d like my feet to be less gross but I fear that if they become baby smooth than I’m going to get blisters from all my shoes again.
Yeah, as much as I am fascinated by Baby Foot, I actually own Vaseline and socks already so I probably will just try that first.
I know we’ve discussed this a million times, but mineral only sunscreens that don’t feel like shit on the skin? I’m super overwhelmed by the Korean options even though they’re supposed to feel a lot better- are they mineral or chemical sunscreens?
Just remembered you texted me about this when I was away from my phone for hours and I haven’t dealt with it.
Some are chemical and some are physical.
here is the recs.
I like Dr. Jart’s mineral sunscreen a lot: https://www.sephora.com/product/dr-jart-every-sun-day-mineral-sunscreen-spf-50-P457521?skuId=2344547&icid2=products%20grid:p457521:product
It doesn’t show up as white cast-y on me, but I’m very fair, so I’m not a reliable source.
I bought the first one in that post (the Korean one I believe) based on @anomalily’s recommendation. I love it - it blends very well on my skin (as far as I can tell), and doesn’t feel greasy or make me breakout. On Baby’s skin we end up with a white cast. I’m not sure if that’s because I can’t rub it in as well on him (I have to chase him around the house while putting on sunscreen) or because he’s much paler than I am (I’m Asian with a medium complexion, he’s half-white and fair). I’ve stuck to banana boat mineral sunscreen for Baby because it’s “oilier” and I can smear it on him a little better.
Speaking of sunscreen are there any thingamabobbers to help apply it to one’s back when one has a frozen shoulder and doesn’t want to ask their neighbors for help applying sunscreen every day?
I’m considering spray for that bit because it’s where I have the most exposure and the least reach now
Many. I’m guessing self tanning ones are cheaper than mobility aids most of the time
