I let them soak in. I feel like the rubbing would give my hands more serum than my face.

I got my australian gold today, @noitsbecky! The tan version is available on Ulta. So far so good!

So far the Australian gold is a major boon to my skin! No itchiness, no irritation like the Elta MD. Highly recommend.

Where did you buy it from? I’m still dragging my feet but sunshine is starting to exist in the PNW lol.

It’s on Amazon! I got it thru Ulta because my skin is tan and I needed the darker color, but I recall you being pretty fair skinned so should work!

Australian Gold BB Cream Fair-Light should bring it up. It’s also up thread somewhere.

Ty! I’m actually near a Ulta now and they do curbside, so that’s a good approach.

I hate almost all skincare I try, but I wanted to post a rec for once. My derm recommended Cerave PM moisturizer to me, and it is Amazing. If you are someone that hates heavy/greasy feeling moisturizers and/or has oily/combo skin, this product is so smooth and dries almost matte. It also has helped me significantly with redness because of the niacinamide in it. It’s pretty affordable for a nice-ish moisturizer ($13?).

Omg you guys. So I’ve been struggling with dry skin. I got a sample of Origin’s Overnight Hydrating mask… it is SO GREAT! I have ZERO itchiness? Even though it smells LOVELY? I mean, the neutrogena cream that I love doesnt even feel this good on my skin. It’s been awesome. I recommend.

This is probably a really dumb question, but:
When the Ordinary says, like, “don’t combine this with peptides” or “don’t combine this with acids,” does that mean, like… ever? You pick one or the other and that’s all you use?

Or does it just mean to not put one on and then the other? Like, is it OK to use 1 during the day and 1 at night? Or alternate days?

From what I’ve read, it means not at the same time. So… use thing A in the morning and thing B at night. I’ve got one item that is supposed to be separate from a few other things. I’m not real clear on the “why” of it all, but I think it just makes them less efficient. Others might know better than me.

Sometimes it has the same effect, so don’t layer two exfoliating acids at the same time or you’ll over exfoliate

I also want to say that Lactic acid is incredible and my skin is finally not rough to the touch. I love you, The Ordinary!

That makes sense. I’m afraid of doing anything that’s going to irritate my skin. I read a little more and it sounds like one chemical can break down the other sometimes and make it less effective. Which, it sounds like, is just if you use one right after the other.

I will try using one in the morning and one at night and see how that goes.

Does sleeping on your stomach make your face sag? I feel like my face gets pulled down but I’m not sure. If it’s affecting my face I’m going to stop.

I very much would think no. You’re just noticing because of gravity. Our faces sag over time because collagen fibers break down as we age, and aren’t replaced at the same rate. Our skin is also lower % water (which makes sense, since the collagen cross links store a lot of water), so it’s all a bit more loosy-goosey. Totally normal part of aging.

Superfluous details: Interestingly, also massively accelerated during pregnancy because of the hormone relaxin. (Which is why boobies sag whether or not you breastfeed).

Ok thanks, I’m not going to sleep on my face anymore! I’m not ready to look older haha. Where did all the time go??

Do those microneedle rollers do anything? Since we’re talking collagen

No I was saying I don’t think it makes any difference whatsoever.

That I do not know. Transiently I could guess at a mechanism- localized inflammation leads to a fuller appearance. Basically what Botox does in that case. Wouldn’t be anything lasting though.

Ohhhhhhhh I totally misread “I think no” as “I think so” and your references to gravity as the feeling that my face is getting pulled down in the night, accelerated by aging!

Bleh, I hate seeing how heavy my jowls look now! Benefits of masking? :joy:

IDK if it’s true, but I read a long time ago that the friction pulling from the pillowcase fabric can and that’s why satin is best for pillowcases. I’ve used one ever since! People generally think I’m a lot younger than I am, but that could also be sunscreen/genetics. Maybe she’s born with it . . . maybe it’s her pillowcase?? :stuck_out_tongue:
