Thanks for sharing them - pretty girls. Sorry about the sad-iversary.
Thanks Gdogg. I do miss them, but truthfully it doesn’t make me sad anymore, which is good! Because now I can remember all the happy stuff without any tears.
She was tremendously beautiful and I can genuinely feel her sweet energy just from the photo.
I just realized that it totally sounds like I loved Original Cat more because I waxed poetic about her in that description. I loved her different? She had the distinction of being First Cat™, which made her Special. But also, I think I have talked about Senior Cat a lot more here. I think?
I know I have talked about Senior Cat (the calico) here before because she was here when the kittens came, and she also pre-dated Doggo (hence her designation of Senior Cat). And I think I have occasionally talked about Original Cat (the tortie) as relates to difficult decisions, etc. I thought I had shared photos at least of Senior Cat (but not Original Cat), but now I don’t actually think that is true, because this forum has only been around for a year, and it has been 2! So maybe I shared Senior Cat on MMM? I can’t remember. Oops!
Anyway, I loved them both!
Thank you for listening to my ramble.
We love all our pets - they each have their own personalities and quirks and so are different. It is hard to lose any of them.
So, I didn’t think you loved one cat more than the other, just that it’s an anniversary.
Daisy needs my towel so she can build a good nest on the floor while I bathe. I have to fight her for it when I get out.
She has such a good face <3
Thanks! I do quite like her face!
That little crown is adorable!
Wow! 19! That is fantastic.
Our old dog is a rescue and we don’t have an exact age - but we got him 16 years ago and he had his adult teeth so we guess he was about 1 years old at the time of adoption. We thought he was old now (~17 yo). He is still kicking it, and still gets the zoomies sometimes.
Happy Birthday lovely pup!! Is he eating a special meal here?
Kitty has early morning demonic tendencies.
Around 5am she starts jumping on my feet from outside the blanket and zooming around the bedroom full speed. At this point I pick her up and carry her into the office where I gave her a little snack, a few extra toys, and I shut the door.
When me and pup wake around 6/6:30 I open the office door so she can join us.
Kitty is usually much calmer by this point but she certainly does spend a portion of her time hiding under the edge of the bed so that she can attack any feet that go by.
SHE IS SO CUTE THOUGH.
Y’all, can I ask for some help? B has started chewing the carpet off our stairs again after we thought we’d trained him out of it. Any ideas for how to get him to stop or how to keep him from accessing?
It’s an open spiral staircase in the middle of our unit so I can’t put a puppy gate around it or just close off the area. Last time I wrapped a blanket around the bottom of the stairs. I can do that again but I’m wondering if there’s a better way.
Our landlord is going to hate us. Although the carpet is at least 5 years old and does need replacing…
ETA: we’ve been upping his enrichment with games, food puzzles, slow feeders. He has tons of toys- squeakers, balls, ropes, a bone, cardboard tubes to shred, so plenty of healthy ways to direct his energy. Yet he does this.
He seems like a very smart puppy who will find a way to rip at something smaller you put there (like tape)
But have you tried any of the taste deterrents with him? Like bitter apple or hot sauce? Not all dogs care, bit if bitter apple works on him you could try that along the edges.
You can try a deterrent spray. They have bitter apple spray and bitter cherry spray for dogs, and cats have the taste receptors as dogs. Citrus is also highly distasteful to cats, so a citrus spray might work also on dogs?
