I go out with him and praise him but we don’t treat him because he will hold his pee and only pee a tiny bit so that he can get a treat, then repeat every 5 minutes.

Hahahah little shit. Sounds like mine, although luckily she didn’t do that on potty training.

Yeah we got approximately 8 hours out of treating him for going out and then he would pee on the floor right in front of us and look up like “treat please, yes?” And once we stopped that he tried ringing his bells every 5 minutes for about an hour before we crated him. I’m glad he’s smart but I also hate it sometimes :woman_facepalming:t2:

A friend successfully trained a couple of dogs to ring a bell in order to be let out. But the last dog got confused and would ring the bell, then potty on the floor! We called that “Clean-up on aisle 5”.

:::I am not a trainer:::

But. Perhaps narrow the timeline again? Back to 60-80 minutes for a week and see how it goes? He may just need shorter jumps in time. My pup (now an older distinguished lady) did big jumps from 30 to 60 to 90 and then 1/2 day, but I do know some pups need shorter jumps like 30 to 45 to 60, etc. etc.

And some of it may sort itself out with the big snip, yes.

Sometimes my dag scwonches herself up really low. I do not understand.

Is there any pattern to when he has accidents? Like he’s playing and ignores that he has to go to the bathroom (like toddler boys of the human variety)? Any specific place that he’s having accidents or time of day?

Sometimes it takes going back to basic potty training - crate or on leash next to you, no unsupervised roaming the house, going out to go potty on a strict schedule again. It’s not too unusual for a puppy his age to backslide a bit.

Yes, that’s the spot…that feels good.

We are leaving for a holiday (Europe) on Monday. We’ll miss this one a lot. (We’ll also possibly miss our kids :thinking::upside_down_face::joy:)

He was actually very chill while I did yoga. Perhaps letting him roam around at his leisure is showing him he doesn’t have to whip around like a tornado all the time. Or maybe it was Adriene’s calming voice. Who knows :woman_shrugging:t2:

I can’t do yoga at home without putting Luigi away, he gets very confused and concerned about the poses and starts desperately licking whichever bit of me he can reach.

I was surprised he didn’t constantly lick me since he likes to do that any other time. He was content to chew his bone, go in and out of his pen, explore the room we were in, and he resisted the urge to pounce on me until the very end when I was sitting on my mat.

Obsessed with her paws right now:

Are you allowed to touch them @bucketsofrain ? I’m not allowed to touch my kitty’s paws but he lets my husband touch them. I’m allowed to touch his tummy though, and husband is not. Kitties have very strict rules.

I am allowed to in that she won’t bite or anything (she is very gentle), but she would probably move them or maybe even walk away from me and sit down just out of reach :sob:.
