Such a beautiful pile of terror.
Your doggo always looks so happy!
New discovery: pup is very scared of my tailor’s ham. I put it on the floor to make space on my ironing board and he barked and growled. I brought it closer to him so he could sniff and see that it was ok and he cowered with his tail between his legs. Poor dude.
So, inquiring minds want to know: what is a tailor’s ham, and is it normally scary?
Haha a tailor’s ham is that plaid thing in the photo and it is used under garments so that you can press curves like shoulder or bust seams with precision. You put it under the item and fiddle with it until it fits the curve the way you need it to, then you press everything into place. Only scary in that I always end up burning my fingers when I use it. But that’s because I’m impatient and my iron is industrial grade and super hot. This is the first thing he’s reacted to in this way and I have no idea what it is about it that gets him. Normally his reaction to anything on the floor is “YAY TOY/THING I CAN BITE!”
Has he seen you use it and hurt yourself? If he has, maybe he thinks that it’s dangerous (versus the iron being the issue).
Nope, I haven’t used it recently. And even when I do it’s usually just that I’ll swear under my breath or something. Burning my fingers is not an injury that registers much after design school
It might have a burnt smell from all the ironing. Scary and bad!
This game is called “Don’t Let The Old Man Drink Water”
Oh no!
My heart is melting. Bobbin is sick for the first time so we are all just laying in bed resting. Pup and Bobbin are laying forehead to forehead and it’s just so sweet. Even though he’s very much still a rowdy puppy I can see how protective he is of her already
Omg those ear whispies!
Since we’re all pet people here, anyone got advice for potty training a nearly 6mo pup? I’m getting frustrated. He knows how to ring bells on the door to go outside, and he is either with us playing, in a playpen, or his crate within eyesight. He will go 4-5 days without an accident and then will have a stretch of bad days.
I’ve never had a male puppy so I’m wondering if any of this is hormone related and will go away once he’s been neutered. Our girl potty trained really fast (and we had wood floors so cleanup was less of a pain) so this is new to me.
ETA: I’m home with him all day and I take him out every 90-120 minutes. For the first 4 weeks we had him we used a timer and lately we’ve been trying to have him signal to us when he wants to go out with mixed success
Do you go out with him and praise/treat when he goes?
