Recipes and food ideas

I want to make coconut milk pudding but all the recipes are like healthy or low carb or keto. I want unhealthy dessert made from coconut milk. Ideas?

I haven’t made this, but it’s Alton Brown

I don’t like rice pudding that much. I made a baked/steamed coconut milk custard years ago before everything on the internet was keto but I can’t remember the recipe.

This website is called Sugar Geek, so that seems promising. Cannot attest to anything, though, as I’m not much of a custard fan and only like coconut milk with lots of spicy curry spiciness.

I think you can do this one with coconut milk (as opposed to cream), but not sure. Recipe in notes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GS8IyiqAYvE&t=2s

Wil Yeung’s food isn’t supposed to be healthy or keto. It’s just vegan.

We make this all the time and it’s great

Thank you! Saving this one.

One of my favorite recipes is almost identical to this one, the only difference is the stir fry sauce consists of 3 parts soy sauce, 2 parts rice vinegar, and siracha/whatever spicy sauce you like in the amount you like. It makes for a tangy, spicy stir fry.

Went to the expensive grocery store and scored a 50% off free-range Australian flank steak. Ok, not the best for food miles, but it was damned good beef very thinly sliced across the grain.

I used this as a basis for the recipe. I had tamarind pulp, which I nuked with the water, and then put through a sieve. And I didn’t have generic honey, so I just used a spoonful of sugar.

Also, because I was at the grocery store, we picked up the Angry Lady’s chili crisp condiment to find out if it tastes less fishy to me than the one with the tofu bits.

The best kind of vacation is the one where I get to browse grocery stores and try new things.

My coworker friend who supplied me with many tomatoes this summer (bless her!) brought me four quince. I do not know what to do with them. I’ve had quince paste on manchego cheese, and that’s about all the quince I’ve had in my life. Any ideas?

So my girlfriend recently became a vegan and wants to keep animal products out of our kitchen - what do I eat for breakfast?? (other than scrambled tofu, which I’ve never much cared for)

What kind of breakfasts do you usually like?

Some vegan or easily veganizable breakfast foods I like:

Pancakes; waffles; toast with toppings; (fake) meats; soup; oatmeal; grits (esp with greens); breakfast lentils; cereal; rice pudding; bread pudding.

I’ve been really enjoying bagels with cashew cream cheese lately, but I’m hoping to branch out into less bread-heavy options.
I never considered bread pudding as a breakfast but now you’ve inspired me

What about a hearty toast with some of the same cashew cream cheese? Still carby, but has fewer carbs at least.

If you’re in the northern hemisphere, I really do recommend soup at breakfast over the winter. It gets you SO warm and it’s a great way to get some veggies in at breakfast.

I love oatmeal with lots of fruit. Bananas and cocoa powder are good.

I am not good at not bread recommendations…

Vegan yogurt and fruit is also good.

I love The Happy Pear for vegan recipes.

I have overnight oats every morning and I find it very filling. Fun ideas here:
