Real estate ogling

I did a check and the place we sold in Brisbane back in 2017 could be worth $500k more, so easily into the >1mill.

Yeahhh…I loved living in NYC but the idea of permanently settling down in a market where $1mil didn’t even guarantee you a dishwasher or laundry machine was too much stomach. (Obviously there are more and less affordable neighborhoods, but. Still.)

Do I like this house because it’s kind of mid-mod, or because it’s trendy? I can’t tell which it is! I consistently like mid-mod things, and I’m looking for decorating/furniture inspiration, but I don’t want to lean too far into “trendy” and hate everything in a few years.

I’m pretty into like 85/90% of this house. The outdoor spaces are fantastic and I will consistently swoon over drawers in the kitchen instead of cabinets.

Also mid mod is very trendy right now.

My new house has drawers in the cabinets! I’m pre-swooning since I don’t actually own it yet. Every time I open a cabinet in my current (much-hated) kitchen, I talk about how I’m not going to miss them!

Supposedly it used to be a datacenter but they had to put it out somewhere that required it look like a house to blend in.
