JK. I don’t know about this, but it looks like you can take a “course” (the first step here How Do I File for Bankruptcy? The Process from Start to Finish | Oregon Law Help) and it will help you decide if it’s a good option for you. It may also lecture you on how to better manage your finances, though, which you probably don’t need.
I do not know much about this, but my understanding is that you can generally keep your car, house, and retirement funds with some exceptions. I think there is an “equity exemption” for your car and house–if you have too much equity in either of them, you might have to sell them to pay off debtors. (Quick google search says the equity exemption in Oregon is 150k for a house and 3k for a car.)
That looks like a wound from some kind of illness (aka it looks similar to a spot on a tree I have that I’m told was from the tree fighting something off when then healed). Poke the inner area to see if it’s solid and email your local agricultural extension.
I was super wrong, the ropey things are basically tree scabs over wounds in the bark.
What caused the wounds could be a bunch of things. Could be sunscald from too much sun, might not have been able to withstand a freeze and popped over the winter, critter might have hit it.
I feel like this is a word problem from school somehow.
Kiddo’s birthday party is this weekend to catch the school crowd before everyone leaves for summer. The party place just said their pizza oven is broken and awaiting a part delivery so the original food plan is out the window. I can still get drinks there though (and they serve adult beverages too if the other parents want to buy their own).
Original food plan:
Four 12" pizzas, two cheese and two pepperoni
Lemonades
The party will be 5-6 ten and eleven year olds and seven adults.
I kind of want to make a fruit platter and a veggie platter (plus the extra will become snacks at home) and then pizza with that. Should I still do the four pizzas or some other amount? How much food do I need?!
four pizzas, fruit / veggie platters, and a ‘kids’ dry platter - goldfish crackers, pretzels, other crackers, cookies, Tostito chips, bites n bites, crispers (do you have those in the US?) ‘kid foods,’ etc.
I’m guessing freeze because I don’t remember it being there last fall and both are doing it. I want to say they are flame maples. If it’s a wound that will heal and not kill the trees I’m not going to be concerned about it.
Are you totally set on that number of pizzas? I’d recommend adding 1-2 more. We ate almost all of 3 12” pizzas the other night with four adults and 2 toddlers, and one of the toddlers doesn’t eat dinner. (I am of the hosting school of thought that you want to have more than enough food when hosting though)
Pre cut carrots, celery, and watermelon are easily available and I don’t mind doing the strawberries and cucumber. Blueberries and watermelon are buy one get one right now too, and I can prep this on Saturday. Dips will be pre made.
Did you have any really sunny days with snow on the ground this winter? We have a tree with a spot like that and our landscaper said it was “snow scald” or something like that. Basically the sunlight reflects off the snow and burns the tree. He said that you can get wraps to put around the tree to avoid it.
It’s not something we usually deal with here because we usually get lots of snow and then it warms up and melts quickly, but a few winters ago around Christmas time we got a ton of snow and it stayed below freezing for weeks. That spring is when we noticed the spot on the tree.
