Yeah, pretty much. Like, this is so funny I’m dying, I’m dead, help (except don’t.) also like funny/stupid. Like this is so stupid, help because it’s going to kill me. But stupid funny not the kind of stupid that makes you mad like Trump being president. (They all want him actually dead, not like the dead they are from laughing at stupid shit).
I told you it’s confusing. I’m in text jail and they only put up with me because I’m their mother because I commit many infractions such as:
Use capitals
Use punctuation
Ask them if they are ok when they say “help”
Have (in the past but know better now) used …
Ask for translations of their unintelligible acronyms
And the most unforgivable of all, this emoji: ![]()
That is my favorite emoji. Why do the kids hate it?
I wish I didn’t know this. But yeah they’ll say “help”, occasionally “this is sending me”, “dead”
, less often ![]()
“Help” actually makes sense to me as An Old™️ because when I’m laughing like so much that I’m crying I often start saying “help” like “help I can’t stop laughing” … So that one clicked for me.
Oh, I forgot one! I have my autocorrect on. Very cringe.
Am I Gen z without knowing it? o.o I definitely use all of these…
(…or am I on Discord too much, maybe that if the better question)
Whoa - that’s some major drama.
Only thing worse would be to ask them to make a phone call to a stranger.
Chill bro, chill. It’s not that deep.
(Gen Z response.)
Oh, I am right with them on that - I hate talking on the phone.
Ok, but I unironically love that.
I keep meaning to buy one of the “Bestie, let me merge before I cry” stickers
Yeah as a millennial I feel like we don’t throw around that phrase; if anything I’ve heard people policing each other about it. That plus the cutesty hearts around it is super gen z!
OK - this helps with my confusion! I see many “non-trigger” phrasing options, so this was rather stark.
As a parent, it’s the absolute worst. I hate it soooooo much. Talk about triggering! And they just throw it around, nonstop, like it’s nothing. I find a lot of their language silly and ridiculous and confusing and weird, but whatever. I can laugh about it. Except that one. That’s not OK and Daughter is the worst offender. It makes me want to km. (just kidding!)
My friend group talked like that in highschool, and a few weeks into university I was on the phone chatting to my bf and almost ended up in the psych ward because my roommate took it seriously. And that is how I learned my lesson
Is there a name for the kind of paint/wrap on a car that’s like shot silk? So when you look at the car from one angle it’s blue but then when it passes you it shifts to purple.
Iridescent.
Really? I feel like iridescent ought to have more colors!
This says pearlescent.
