King Soopers is such a funny name. (Not helpful, sorry!)
It’s so funny how we get so used to it, but it is quite silly if you think about it
I do! I’ve had a few issues but mostly it’s good. I did the $50 annual subscription and not the $100 one
King Soopers was the best grocery store ever until Krogers ate it up.
I know that a few people here have done their own laminate/engineered flooring install but has anyone done carpet and can comment on how difficult it is? We are at the point in our renovation where I’d like to spend less money but also we have a bunch of chores to do and I would be upset if the DIY quality is mediocre.
When we had just moved back from Libya, my sister and I laughed so hard over the names of stores. We were like “Burger King should marry Dairy Queen!”
A regional convenience store is called Kum & Go. Spelling it with a K doesn’t really help.
OMG
Some friends and I went to NYC for Pride week. One friend (she’s a little weird) brought some Kum & Go trucker hats and handed them out to others watching the parade. New Yorkers can be shocked.
There is also Git & Go - which always makes me think some poor dog is getting scolded.
Of course this all means if you want Kum & Go swag you can order from them or I can hook you up
Howie is from Nebraska and I am flabergasted by Kum & Go every time we go visit.
I took a picture of that sign!
The big grocery store chain around Pittsburgh is Giant Eagle…
It’s doable but a lot of people have trouble stretching it enough. It’s seriously physically demanding to get right. (Wall to wall). Demo is simple as shit though, although staple removal can be tedious.
We offered to rip up the carpet in advance of putting new lvp down and our contractor said not to bother since it was so fast for his team that it wouldn’t really save us much time or cost.
Demo was done already and I actually kind of love the distressed look, but Mr Darling has pointed out that the cracks and holes where the knots used to be would make it a nightmare to clean.
I thiiiiink the boards might be original to the 1912 house though?
Brag on how happy I am with my attic reno incoming on my journal!
My local library is moving our online catalog from Boundless to Libby, which I am thrilled about. It seems like since it’s in process, their audiobook selection is way more limited. I’ve gone through all of the library cards for places I used to live and they are all expired: are there any libraries with good audiobook collections that I can get from anywhere? I live in Colorado.
Do you have family in other cities? If so, I think the best method is sharing card numbers
Also check if they have hoopla or other services! I mostly use Libby, but my library also has a BUNCH of other services I can use. It also really depends on what the library signs up for. Could be worth dropping them a note or book request, and note the different level of availability.
Ignore your other responsibilities, go on a field trip, and sign up for random library cards? (Since in Colorado you don’t have to be a past or current resident to get one for a city)
I never ever check out audiobooks, but apparently my city’s library has over 8,000 available online. Is that a lot?
Dude all of them!
Jeffco has less audiobooks but many ebooks usually okay wait times
Pikes peak has all of the books but long wait times
Broomfield/Westminster share front range downloadable library
Marmot is the best but that’s like telluride area
Poudre river is okay (fort Collins)
High plains library district is surprisingly good (Loveland/fredrick)
Basically every time you visit a new city now, go get a library card! It takes 5-10 mins, and give s you options. When you find a book it will show you the wait times at all of the libraries.
