Yes, for state taxes MA has an intuitive online form. For federal I use cashapp taxes which I know sounds like a total scam but they bought credit karmas tax software which is what I used before. Logging in is a huge pain because they make you use the phone app to log into your browser but other than that it’s great.
I used FreeTaxUSA last year and really liked it! I personally thought it was way more intuitive (ha) than TurboTax (especially for my work RSUs, which TurboTax completely botched). And it’s…free. lol.
We are also FreeTaxUSA converts. It’s free for the federal and state is very inexpensive. We had used Turbo Tax for ages.
Another vote for Freetaxusa, I’ve used them for about 5 years now and it’s super simple!
Piling on to say I switched to FreetaxUSA a couple years ago and have been quite happy with it.
I’m thinking of switching from TurboTax this year. I guess FreeTasUSA must be pretty good then. Might give them a try.
Do it!! In the past 5 minutes, I’ve already logged in, dealt with my W-2 completely, and shouted “Down with TurboTax” multiple times lol
Is it really free for fed and only 15 for state?
Yes!! $17 for California I think
Yes ma’am! You can buy different tiers of bonus stuff (unlimited amended returns and extra support) for $8 and $40, but I haven’t needed to.
Another vote for freetaxusa. I’m still waiting for some forms so I can’t do anything quite yet.
And another for FreeTaxUSA.
How to logoff? I’m logged into everything and want to create a new logoff between use habit. I am logged in via an iPhone.
I had been using Yummy as a recipe saving and organizing app. It is now gone.
Replacements? I want to be able to save a recipe from anywhere on the Internet, custom categorize, search by ingredient (not just in title), and see ingredients and preferably also directions in-app. I don’t care about meal planning or grocery list features. Being able to discover new recipes in-app would be nice.
ETA: Also, free app is a requirement lol.
I use plan to eat and it does all of this. It has a receipt clipper that is fantastic for importing recipes from web pages!
I talked to someone recently who suggested using AI for this, because it just generated the recipes right in the session and you didn’t need links. I haven’t tried it but it sounded like he had good success with it.
I just have a collection of links on a One Note page and the search capabilities are poor. Or I’m not doing it right which is also possible.
This seems like a weird design choice I just never noticed before I guess. ![]()

Afaict they’ve always looked like that!
