I will say that I couldn’t detect DR in myself but I did the exercises anyway and they felt good anyway. I think being little rearranged after pregnancy is not necessary unusual.

It is several factors. For one, yeah half a finger with even up to like two fingers can be considered normal. The biggest thing is the depth and how much you can brace against it. Basically there’s a test that they do where you do it relaxed and then you do it under detention and they see how much the depth changes and how boggy it stays and that can help basically say when you’re doing proper form for things and you’re under a load, how vulnerable is the tissue there? So the home test can be good for answering. Yes, I definitely have a wide or super deep separation, but I’m not sure I would rely on it completely for I for sure. Have a stable core.

I’m part of a social group that functions largely with monthly emails about events we have going on. Over the years a bunch of people have signed up - the list serve goes out to 169 people and we currently get like 20-30 people total at all of our events over a month? For those of you that help run other big groups, should we … pare down the inactive people from the list? If so, how?

This came up when myself and the others running it were looking at a bunch of back end stuff so I don’t know if we’re overthinking it or if there’d be a benefit to cleaning up the group membership.

I’m on some mailing lists that don’t make it obvious how to unsubscribe. Those go straight to my email trash. How easy/ obvious is the unsub process for your emails?

Is there a way to make them re-register if interested?

Personally I’d just leave it, unless it costs $ to send more

Does anyone have space on a duolingo family plan that would be willing to add me/share cost? I have two days to figure something out or give them all the $ for an annual individual plan.

I’m on one with @Greyweld I think Is there room for one more of us?

All my spots are filled up :-/ sorry

If anyone who knows they are on the plan knows they are not going to use it I can swap members but unfortunately I seem to be the only one who has conclusively fallen off the wagon.

17% conversion seems pretty good for in person events.

I wouldn’t bother pruning unless you are coming up on a cost issue

Does anyone have sleep apnea and willing to talk about it? Here or PM? I just had an appointment and they said I need a cpap which of course I don’t want to use even though I’m sure I need to.

I have sleep apnea and getting it treated has literally changed my life. I have obstructive apnea so I can wear a dental device that works but I also know lots of people with a cpap!

The newer cpaps are awesome! They humidify the air, track how many episodes you have a night, are quiet, and decently portable.

I think for air travel you can get an exception for medical equipment if you want to bring it in its own bag.

What questions do you have?? I’m not a doctor and have limited personal experience, but I’m happy to help!

My personal anecdotes: I used to need a nap every day and sleep like 10 hours and still be tried. Getting my apnea under control has dramatically improved my daytime energy and I feel like a new human. It wasn’t an instant change (not like Charlie and the chocolate factory grandpa jumping out of bed levels of energy) but it was dramatic in how much less sleep I needed and had more energy.

The folks I know with a cpap have had similar stories with energy levels and ability to focus in their day to day life. I am sure there are other markers in their heart function but I don’t know details of other folks to that level.

I think central sleep apnea is more rare but I know someone with that too.

I would have about 20 episodes per hour (which means I would stop breathing for at least 10 seconds 20 times per hour and my blood oxygen would drop below 88)

I used to not be able to watch a movie without falling asleep.

It’s a lot of little things that have added up to me being really grateful for treatment options!

I’m sorry for your diagnosis and I know this will be a change for you to adjust to, and I hope that it goes smoothly and you notice an improvement in quality of life from treatment. I made it sound like all rainbows and butterflies but it is still a change and everyone’s experience is different!

Bah. I’m just being a whiny baby about having to wear a ridiculous thing on my head. My coworker just told me that everyone she knows that uses one feels way better. I won’t even get the machine for a week or so I’m just cranky about it.

Thanks for verifying that treatment is worth it.

I desperately need focus and energy so it will probably be great. It better be great so I stop being cranky about it.

I haven’t used a CPAP but my dad did for years, and I know it was a HUGE help for him (and for my mom, as it cleared up my dad’s snoring, lol). I think he used it regularly for a good while, but now he doesn’t have to use it nearly as much and doesn’t have to take it with him traveling anymore. So maybe there’s potential to not need it forever?

Being upset about having to wear something on your head and add complexity to your life is absolutely valid!!!

I think that once you try it, when you see the improvements it changes your perspective from annoying/grief/anger to joy/acceptance/peace.

It will be easier to accept the tradeoff once you see the benefits but you don’t have to accept it yet.

Thats what happened for me and now I feel weird sleeping without my retainer, and the folks I know with cpaps feel the same way.

I wasn’t offered getting a retainer, I feel like I would prefer it to being wired up.
