The solstice is almost here and I’m anticipating being in need of a very dark room at 6am pretty soon.

Recommendations for well-priced, quality, attractive blackout curtains/other solution?

Needs to work with the below windows (thx listing!):

We have Amazon (or target can’t remember) curtains with command hooks and a normal rod to go across! Works great in a pinch and super easy to install. Fully covers the windows so no light gets in.

It’s been up for 2 years and we take the rod down pretty frequently because moisture gets trapped since it is so close to our humidifier.

I have nice ones from Costco that have hidden magnets to keep them shut, I think they are $23 a set right now, in a couple different neutral colors

I bought a set of these for the toddlers room and then subsequently the other bedrooms because they’re surprisingly nice!

ETA sorry about giant link

Inside mount cellular shades paired with heavy curtains for the tiny bit of light leakage around the edges of you follow their instructions. Or you can get them cut to almost scrape the sides of you window and block all light. They sell em at Lowe’s like $35 to $70 for each depending on size you need and they’ll cut them for you

Does the phrase “three-season porch” mean anything to you? I said it to my New Yorker mom the other day and she had never heard it before so now I’m wondering if this is a term I picked up in MN (where they are much more common)!

Three season porch is something I have heard quite a bit in Michigan and Wisconsin.

Haha it’s something I’m familiar with from New York!

Definitely yes I’ve heard that here in Oregon/Washington. But I may have just extrapolated from “3 season sleeping bag” what it meant :joy: that’s more common, here.

Haha it may just be my mom! But also now that I think about it I can’t think of ever seeing any houses with one when I was growing up there
